Welcome the new king of mobile photography! Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the “God of the night”
The main highlight of this model is undoubtedly its top-tier camera system, taking mobile photography to a whole new level. Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup, with the main sensor and the telephoto lens among the most advanced on the market.
The main camera features a 50 MP sensor Sony LYT900, with a size of 1 inch and an aperture of f/1.63. Thanks to optical image stabilization (OIS) and multi-directional PDAF autofocus, it can focus quickly and accurately even in poor lighting conditions. This sensor, combined with advanced Xiaomi software, will deliver clean, highly detailed photos even in low light.
The telephoto lenses of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra are among the best ever used in mobile phones. The first telephoto lens is the 50 MPx Sony IMX858 with 3.2× optical zoom, and it’s equipped with OIS for image stabilization.
This lens also impresses with its exceptional macro capabilities. The second telephoto lens is a 200 MPx Samsung S5KHP9 that brings 5× periscope zoom with optical image stabilization and an aperture of f/2.6. Thanks to the combination of high resolution and advanced algorithms, this telephoto lens can deliver incredibly sharp shots even with multiple hybrid zoom.
An ultra-wide camera shouldn’t be missing either in this model. Xiaomi 15 Ultra uses a 50 MPx sensor Samsung S5KJN5, offering dual-pixel PDAF for fast focusing. This lens is perfect for capturing wide landscape shots, architecture, or group photos.
The front camera is equipped with a 32 MPx sensor Omnivision OV32B40 supporting 4K video, which especially suits fans of “selfie” photos and content creators for social media.
The Xiaomi manufacturer labels the main sensor and the telephoto lens with 200 MPx resolution and, supposedly, promises unmatched quality for night shots. There’s also support for 8K video recording, Dolby Vision HDR, and advanced AI algorithms to automatically enhance every photo.
Extreme performance thanks to Snapdragon 8 Elite
Under the hood of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra sits the latest processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, built on a modern 3 nm process. This chip guarantees outstanding performance—whether you’re gaming the newest titles, using AI features, or running everyday multitasking. Graphics are handled by Adreno 830, ensuring smooth operation even for the most demanding apps and mobile games.
With chip optimization, you can expect excellent power efficiency, meaning longer battery life while maintaining high performance. There will be several memory configuration options to choose from. The RAM is LPDDR5X:

The display has a 6.73-inch diagonal with Quad HD+ resolution (1440 x 3200 px) and a refresh rate of 1 Hz – 120 Hz. It’s an AMOLED panel with a maximum peak brightness of 3200 nits.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with a huge 6000 mAh battery, which is a significant improvement over the previous generation. However, we already know that the global version will get a considerably smaller 5410 mAh battery, which is quite a shame. This model offers fast charging with up to 90 W wired and 50 W wireless charging.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra will run on Android 15 with HyperOS 2. This software brings convenient controls, better optimization, and improved security. One of the biggest advantages of this model is up to 8 years of software support, which is more than on smartphones from Samsung or Google.
Thanks to the agreement between Qualcomm and Google, Xiaomi 15 Ultra will regularly receive operating system updates and security patches for an incredibly long period. The operating system also includes a feature that allows you to transfer files to iPhone, iPad, or Mac, including dynamic photos that move when you press and hold them.
The phone’s construction is dust- and water-resistant according to IP68 certification. For connectivity, it supports globally used GNSS navigation and positioning systems, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, as well as 5G and LTE, including the B20 band.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra brings special satellite connectivity
Xiaomi is once again pushing the boundaries of smartphone innovation. Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the world’s first smartphone with direct satellite data connectivity, which fundamentally changes communication in remote areas. During the launch presentation, Lu Weibing, a partner at Xiaomi Group and president of the smartphone division, announced that Xiaomi 15 Ultra uses Star Communications, the brand’s most powerful communications platform to date.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra model is equipped with a top-tier antenna system that combines three communication chips with AI optimization for different scenarios, ensuring reliable connectivity even in challenging conditions.
The phone can even make calls without a normal signal thanks to the Tiantong satellite network, which enables communication over distances of up to 7 kilometers. This feature makes Xiaomi 15 Ultra an invaluable tool for travelers and people moving in areas without coverage from standard mobile networks.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra also supports dual satellite mode (only on the Double-satellite version), which is compatible with both Beidou and Tiantong systems, significantly improving both connectivity and positioning accuracy. This smartphone is therefore not just an ordinary phone, but a high-performance communication device designed for users even in the most remote corners of the world.

While the Chinese version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra was introduced today, February 27, 2025, the global launch will take place on March 2, 2025 during MWC 2025 in Barcelona. The device will be available in three color variants – black, white, and silver.
