Premium body and IP68 protection

The base Xiaomi 15T is lighter (194 g) and slimmer (7.5 mm), which you’ll appreciate in everyday use. Even so, its body is durable thanks to Gorilla Glass 7i and an aluminum construction. The premium 15T Pro is more rugged (210 g), uses a reinforced aluminum alloy frame, and feels more luxurious. Both models are water-resistant with IP68 certification.

The shaping of the back cover and elegant rounded edges improve ergonomics, making the phone comfortable to hold. Color options differ across the versions—15T is available in black, gray, and rose-gold, while 15T Pro can be purchased in black, gray, and elegant mocha gold.

Do you want even smoother 144 Hz?

Both models offer a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with high brightness up to 3200 nits, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Xiaomi 15T has a 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Pro version adds an even smoother 144 Hz mode for demanding users and gamers. Both displays use advanced 3840 Hz PWM dimming, which reduces eye fatigue when using low brightness levels.

The result is excellent readability in direct sunlight, natural colors, and strong contrast whether you’re watching movies or playing games. Quality is also backed by TÜV Rheinland certification for eye care.

New and last-year MediaTek chipsets

The base model uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset, built on 4 nm technology and delivering high performance with low power consumption. 15T Pro goes further with the Dimensity 9400+ on the 3 nm architecture, offering significantly higher computing performance and an Immortalis-G925 GPU with ray tracing support.

Both phones are available with 12 GB RAM LPDDR5X and fast UFS 4.0 storage. The Pro version also offers a 1 TB option, which you’ll appreciate for work with 4K and 8K videos or games that take up a lot of storage.

Leica cameras: differences that really matter

Both devices use Leica optics, have a 50 MP main sensor, and Leica Master Portrait as well as Street Mode modes.

Xiaomi 15T comes with the Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Pro version has a larger sensor labeled Light Fusion 900, which offers better light sensitivity and can also record 8K video at 30 fps, or 4K with a high frame rate of 120 fps.

The biggest difference is the telephoto lens: the base model has 2x zoom, while 15T Pro features a periscope with 5× optical zoom, delivering noticeably better quality when shooting distant subjects.

Battery life & charging: a difference in speed and convenience

Both models have a 5,500 mAh battery, but the difference is in charging. 15T offers 67 W wired charging, which is still very fast. 15T Pro, however, adds up to 90 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, making it one of the fastest-charging devices on the market.

Xiaomi lists a battery lifespan of 1,600 cycles while retaining 80% capacity, great news if you plan to keep your phone for years to come.

Connectivity and offline communication

While Xiaomi 15T Pro offers newer Wi‑Fi 7, 15T uses Wi‑Fi 6E. Both models, however, support offline voice communication up to 1.9 km via Xiaomi Astral Communication, which can be a big plus in the field without signal—as long as the rest of your group is also using a supported phone (currently only the 15T series). You also get NFC, eSIM, Bluetooth 6.0, and globally used navigation systems.

Final verdict: Don’t buy the wrong one!

If you’re looking for a balanced price-to-performance ratio, the base Xiaomi 15T is more than enough. It offers the same high-brightness AMOLED display, great performance thanks to Dimensity 8400 Ultra, a large battery with long-lasting endurance, and quality Leica cameras. Plus, it’s lighter and thinner—something you’ll appreciate in everyday use.

Xiaomi 15T Pro is for you if you want flagship features at a more affordable price compared to the competition. A more powerful 3 nm chip MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a bigger Light Fusion 900 sensor, a telephoto lens with 5× optical zoom, a smoother 144 Hz display, and ultra-fast 90 W wired + 50 W wireless charging are exactly the elements that make the difference. You also get Wi‑Fi 7 and up to 1 TB of storage.

Is an upgrade worth it? Xiaomi 15T Pro vs Xiaomi 14T Pro

If you want a great-value phone at a lower price, Xiaomi 14T is still a solid choice. It offers a 144 Hz AMOLED display, the Dimensity 8300 Ultra processor, Leica optics with 2× zoom, and a 5 000 mAh battery with 67 W fast charging. It’ll serve you well today and for a long time to come.

If you use the Xiaomi 14T Pro, it’s still a very powerful model. It has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, an excellent 50 MP periscope telephoto lens and even 120 W wired charging. However, the battery has a smaller capacity — “only” 5,000 mAh.

The newer Xiaomi 15T Pro delivers higher performance thanks to a 3 nm chip, a larger battery, a better periscope with 5× optical zoom, and in the highest configuration it offers up to 1 TB of internal storage. Wi‑Fi (version 7), connectivity, and the added feature of mentioned offline calls of 1.9 km have also improved—though their practical use is honestly a bit questionable.

If you care about performance, battery life, and advanced features in the Xiaomi ecosystem, buying the 15T Pro definitely makes sense. But if you’re only after the price, the 15T gives you a lot—and even the 14T Pro will remain a great choice after discounts. Upgrading every generation probably isn’t necessary, but if you have a two-year-old model or an older one and these new features really appeal to you, the switch is likely worth it.
