- The global version of Xiaomi 18 passed Taiwan’s NCC certification on September 9 under the designation 2611FPNFAG.
- The document confirms 256 and 512 GB of storage, IP68 durability, and a charger with the code MDY-19-EX.
- This charger’s certificate from TÜV Rheinland mentions 100 W wired charging.
- The same model was already approved in the EEC European database in July — both registrations are over a month earlier than with Xiaomi 17.
- This suggests a faster global launch, although neither registration explicitly confirms the name Xiaomi 18.
Certification databases are boring—full of stamps and numbers, but that’s exactly what you can use to tell when a new phone will show up in our stores first. And with Xiaomi 18, they’re saying something that will make you happy—it looks like this time we won’t have to wait that long.
Updated: Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have already been officially unveiled — you can find their final specs and prices in our article from the launch.
The global version of Xiaomi 18 has passed the Taiwan authority
A mobile phone from Xiaomi with the model designation 2611FPNFAG has been added to the database of Taiwan’s regulator NCC. The applicant listed is Xiaomi’s Taiwan branch, and the approval date is September 9, 2026.
The same designation had already appeared in the European certification database EEC back in July. So it’s a global version of the base model in the series—exactly the unit that will eventually reach European stores.
One note right at the beginning: none of the registrations mentioning the name “Xiaomi 18” is listed anywhere. The authorities work exclusively with internal codes, and assigning it to an eighteen-year model is currently a matter of existing leaks. So this is not a confirmation from Xiaomi, but it’s the strongest evidence we have so far about the global version.
Two memory variants, IP68 and 100 W charging
The certificate also hints at some equipment details. The phone should come in two memory variants—256 GB and 512 GB, with roughly 198 GB and 469 GB realistically available to the user, respectively. The rest is taken by the system, which is typical for Android 17 with the HyperOS overlay. The document also confirms IP68 dust and water resistance.
The more interesting part is the charger. In the paperwork, it’s listed under code MDY-19-EX, and its separate TÜV Rheinland certificate specifies an output of 20 V and 5 A, i.e., 100 W. So the base Xiaomi 18 should charge just as fast as the current higher models—and that’s for the standard version, not the Pro, which is pretty good news.
Why it matters that it appeared a month earlier
Here’s the core of the whole story. Previous Xiaomi 17 appeared in the same Taiwan database only at the end of October 2025, and its global premiere came in February 2026. The “Eighteen” is over a month earlier, which—given the same pace—pushes the international rollout forward.

Don’t get carried away—certification isn’t a timetable, and Xiaomi will set the date itself. Still, it clearly seems to be preparing the paperwork for overseas earlier than with the previous generation, and that doesn’t happen by chance with phones. According to earlier leaks, all three Xiaomi 18 models—18 Pro and 18 Pro Max—should be headed to Europe, so the whole series would benefit from it.
So when will Xiaomi 18 be unveiled?
And here the sources contradict each other, so let’s put it plainly. According to Gizmochina, in China this month they’ll introduce only the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models, while the base Xiaomi 18 should come as late as December, together with the 18 Ultra version. There’s also a possibility that Xiaomi will turn the December premiere into one joint event for both China and the rest of the world.
Which Xiaomi 18 model are you waiting for?
The catch is that another August leak claimed the exact opposite—that the Xiaomi 18 Ultra was canceled. So one of these reports isn’t true, and for now we don’t know which one. The only certainty so far is this: the top model has already appeared in Geekbench with a new Snapdragon, so the debut of the flagship of the series is really just around the corner.
