This morning, Xiaomi held a smaller conference where they introduced not only their first rocket Xiaomi Mi Rocket 1, but also 20 new products. Unlike the rocket, these are already real and it isn’t an April Fools’ joke.

20 “new” products
However, among them there are several products we already know and that were presented not long ago. Brand-new items include, for example, self-lacing smart sneakers, an upgraded version of the Mi Robot Vacuum 1S robot vacuum cleaner, a new rice cooker version, a new Mijia blender with an OLED display, or a Mijia multi-purpose rice cooker.

The details were revealed for only three devices, which will be launched together on April 9, during the Mi Fan festival – a festival for all Xiaomi fans. Here are the details about the mentioned new releases.
Mi Robot Vacuum 1S
Mi Robot Vacuum 1S is the direct successor to the popular Mi Robot Vacuum vacuum cleaner, which was introduced back in 2016. Over that time, Xiaomi managed to sell up to 3 million units, with almost zero negative reviews for the vacuum. In a quality and reliability test, it scored 18,5 points out of 20, which is the best rating among robot vacuum cleaners.
After 3 years, the first direct successor arrives – Mi Robot Vacuum 1S. Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the full specifications, but the vacuum cleaner has undergone many improvements. A lot of them were borrowed from the recently introduced Roborock T6.
Among the novelties, you’ll find a modernized LDS laser navigation system with a new 5 x 360° sensor, which scans the environment even faster and more accurately. The new feature for intelligent room recognition and segmentation comes from the mentioned Roborock T6. New dynamic intelligent route planning increases cleaning efficiency by 13% compared to the previous generation.
The intelligent systems in Mi Robot Vacuum 1S are powered by a quad-core processor. The vacuum also comes with a higher suction power of 2000 pa, compared to 1800 pa in the previous generation. The new model responds to voice commands, which you can use to check the battery status or send it to vacuum a specific room. Mi Robot Vacuum 1S will be available in China for 1999 yuan, which is 265 € / 6850 kč for us.
Mijia electric cooker
The first new product is the Xiaomi Mijia electric cooker – a multi-purpose cooker for soup or tea. It comes with up to 24 cooking modes for different recipes. It supports smartphone control via the Mi Home app.
Official sales will begin on April 9, when we should also learn more details. The price on the Chinese market has been set at 399 yuan, which works out to 53 € / 1365 kč.
Mijia blender with an OLED display
Even though Xiaomi offers several blender models through its e-commerce platform, now they’ve introduced a device under their own Mijia brand. It’s a blender / juicer for making juices, cocktails, milkshakes, or sauces. The blender has a powerful motor and 8 stainless-steel blades that can crush nuts as well as fish bones.
The blender stands out with an OLED display, through which you can set the modes. The blender can also keep food warm at a temperature of 50°C. It also offers app control via Mi Home. The blender’s price in China is set at 699 yuan, i.e. 93 € / 2400 Kč. People in China will also be able to buy it via the Mi Fan festival on April 9.
Mijia smart running sneakers
Xiaomi introduced its first sports sneakers with a smart chip back in 2017. Last year we did get a successor, Mijia Shoes 2, but this time there’s no chip. The third generation of Xiaomi’s smart sneakers takes things to an even higher level. The new Mijia sneakers come with a self-lacing system, similar to the futuristic Nike Mag 2015 and Nike HyperAdapt.
Another interesting feature is the automatic adaptation of the “laces” while running or doing other sports. The sneakers automatically tighten so they stay securely on your foot in every situation. Priced at 999 yuan, or 135 € / 3420 Kč, it’s significantly lower than competitors from Nike. However, this price is intended for people in China, and we’ll have to factor in a higher price again.
