At the December press conference, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled, besides flagship smartphones 13 and 13 Pro, accessories in the form of Xiaomi Buds 4. These are stylish true wireless earbuds with support for Bluetooth 5.3 technology, plus improved resistance to water and dust.
Xiaomi Buds 4: Stylish design and Bluetooth 5.3 support
The new accessory hits the market under the Xiaomi Buds 4 label and significantly surpasses its predecessor. They immediately stand out thanks to the glossy design of the charging case box and the matte design of the headset itself. It also has partial water- and dust-resistance thanks to IP54 certification.
There are several improvements, including in the area of noise cancellation. This feature can reduce ambient noise by up to 40 dB and also includes a dual-pass-through mode thanks to dual microphones, depending on your surroundings. The earbuds have a compact size and a low weight (just 5 grams / one earbud). The full set with a charging case then offers a total weight of 39,5 grams.
A revolution in noise cancellation
Power comes from integrated 11 mm nine-driver speakers and Bluetooth 5.3 technology for smooth, stable wireless connectivity. Hi-Res Wireless support is also included, along with low latency with support for the Bluetooth LHDC-V codec 5.0.
The design includes touch controls on the sides of the earbuds, as well as a 360° dynamic surround sound. Connection speed has also improved compared to the previous generation—by up to 74%.
The integrated battery in the earbuds has a capacity of 53 mAh. The charging case then provides 565 mAh, a USB-C connector, and support for wireless charging via the Qi standard. Battery life is rated at 6 hours (the earbuds) or 30 hours (combined use with the charging case).
Price and availability of the new earbuds
Xiaomi Buds 4 start selling on the Chinese market in white, black, and green. The official retail price is 699 Chinese yuan, which is roughly €95. There will also be a great bundle, though: Xiaomi 13, an original protective case, Xiaomi Watch S2 smart watch, and Buds 4 earbuds for a total of 7999 Chinese yuan (1091€).
