In the second half of May 2025, Xiaomi officially unveiled its new Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro for the Chinese market. It builds on the successful series of elegant and powerful smartphones aimed mainly at young users and photography lovers.
However, the new model raises the bar significantly—it delivers a flagship-level design, high-quality Leica optics, the flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, and a massive 6000 mAh battery in a body that’s only 7,45 mm thick!

Leica gear for day and night
The biggest draw of the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro is clearly its photography equipment. On the back, you’ll find a professional setup of Leica Summilux lenses, including the new “floating” 50 MPx telephoto lens (also used in Xiaomi 15). It enables detailed shots even from farther away thanks to 5x optical zoom.
The telephoto lens comes with optical image stabilization and can also capture detailed macro shots from a short distance of 10 cm.
It’s complemented by a 12 MPx wide-angle lens together with the main 50 MPx Light Fusion 800 sensor with advanced image purity, while the 50 MPx front camera stands out with a completely new nano-prism glass that increases sensitivity by 25%.
The smartphone carries the internal name “Night god”—and not by coincidence. It’s especially meant to shine in night shots thanks to clean optical performance and bright lenses that capture exceptional details even in demanding lighting conditions.
Premium design and a top-notch display
The new Civi 5 Pro comes with a stunning 6.55-inch micro-curved AMOLED display with four-sided symmetrical bezels and an “equal depth” technology. The resolution reaches 2750 x 1236 pixels with a pixel density of 460 ppi.
Maximum brightness goes up to 3200 nits and it supports HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid. The display is also known for its extremely thin 1.6 mm bezels.
Resolution, brightness, and color rendering are all at the highest level, and the display is also eye-friendly. The phone body is extremely thin—just 7.45 mm—and its width of 73.2 mm ensures exceptional one-hand comfort.
Xiaomi used a packaging-style construction made from reinforced aerospace-grade aluminum with a stylish “Starry Deco” finish on the back. There are up to four versions to choose from: classic black and white, a subtle pink “Cherry Blossom,” and gorgeous purple “Nebula Purple” with a special glossy effect made by millions of nano-particles.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a proper battery
Under the hood is the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, offering a flagship 4nm architecture focused on performance and efficiency. Xiaomi also added a special ring cooling with protrusions and a modern cooling-liquid circulation system, ensuring lower temperatures even during long gaming sessions or while using AI features.
You’ll also appreciate the above-standard battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh, which is 1300 mAh more than the Civi 4 Pro predecessor, while the thickness remains the same. Xiaomi achieved this by using special high-silicon cells labeled „Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery“, which allow thinner layers while maintaining high energy density. The smartphone supports 67W fast charging.
Software features and ecosystem
The Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro also puts a strong focus on software and ecosystem connectivity. New features have been added, such as full-fledged editing of dynamic photos in the gallery—cropping, speeding up, adjusting the layout—and sharing on platforms like Weibo, TikTok, or iOS AirDrop. With dynamic photos, you can turn them into an engaging story that’s easy to publish.
Another highlight is compatibility with Apple devices, thanks to which you can share files and photos between Android and iOS without needing any extra apps. Xiaomi has significantly strengthened cross-brand ecosystem connectivity.
Price and availability
Even though the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro launch in China has already taken place, the smartphone is not available for sale yet, and we don’t know its Chinese prices either. For now, people in China can only reserve it via the company’s official website for a small fee. The final price will likely be revealed later.
As for global availability, we don’t expect this model outside China—i.e., in Europe. There are rumors about an Indian version, but it probably won’t go beyond Asia.
