Xiaomi always manages to surprise us with something really bizarre. The company that started out only with smartphones already has products in its portfolio like bamboo napkins or a toilet brush.
Now it’s coming with another piece, but this one is very practical and many of us will gladly use it in the summer days.
Truly practical device
Konjac mosquito bite smoother is a product from the crowdfunding platform Youpin, which works perfectly in China. In collaboration with unknown manufacturers, Xiaomi has already brought many great products, that are not only cheap, but also premium.
It’s especially suitable for trips near lakes or water, where there are really tons of mosquitoes. But it’s also effective against other types of insects and can be used even outside mosquitoes.
How does it work?
Konjac uses thermal impulses, which speed up the breakdown of formic acid. It’s found in the stings of bees and ants, but also occurs in other insect species like mosquitoes.
It has compact dimensions 95 mm x 26 mm x 17 mm and weighs only 40 grams. So there’s no problem to put it in your pocket. It’s made from ABS material and powered by two AA batteries.
In China it’s currently sold for 99 yuan, which is approximately 13 € / 328 kč. It’s also available on Aliexpresse, but of course not at the China price. You can get it for 22 € / 566 kč together with almost 3 € shipping.
