Xiaomi not only offers smartphones at the best price, but also tries to provide the best possible customer service. The manufacturer has users of older models in mind and introduces a battery replacement.

Battery replacement is currently available only in China
Even though technological development keeps moving forward, batteries are still the most critical area of today’s modern smartphones. Their battery life drops dramatically over time, which Xiaomi is aware of.
In March 2020 Xiaomi therefore introduces a battery exchange service for selected older smartphone models. The battery replacement is currently available only in China and costs 49 yuan, which is, in euro terms, a ridiculously 6,25 eur / 165 kč. This price includes both the work itself and the battery.
Battery replacement will be provided for these smartphones:
- Xiaomi Mi 8
- Xiaomi Mi 8 SE
- Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition
- Xiaomi Mi 8 Transparent Edition
- Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition
- Xiaomi Mi 9
- Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
- Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G
- Xiomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s
- Xiaomi Mi Max 3
- Redmi 6
- Redmi 6A
We don’t expect that a similar service will make it to Europe—nor to Slovakia or the Czech Republic—which is definitely a shame. Once again, we can only envy the Chinese for the benefits their homegrown manufacturer gives them.
