Xiaomi celebrated 10 years of the brand by unveiling a new flagship model, the Mi 10 Ultra. Now it wants to show you that this super-powerful smartphone can also be used as a remote controller for a car.

Adrenaline via the 5G network

On the social network Weibo, an ad poster and a video were shared showing how the Mi 10 Ultra smartphone will make it possible to control a car from thousands of kilometers away using a 5G network. So far, it’s not known which car model was used in the demonstration.

A stunning video shows two cars racing on a track. One of the cars is driven by a driver inside the vehicle, while the other is controlled remotely using a smartphone. The race in its style feels like arcade virtual gaming, with the spotlight on the top-tier Mi 10 Ultra.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra has a 6.67” OLED display that delivers Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz, HDR10+ support, a 240 Hz sampling rate, and brightness up to 1120 nits. It also has a TÜV Rheinland certification and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor integrated directly into the display. System performance is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor—used in the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro models that were introduced earlier this year.

Smooth operation of the device is ensured by up to 16 GB RAM of LPDDR5 memory and internal storage with a capacity of 512 GB in the UFS 3.1 standard. The camera consists of four lenses with a resolution of 48 MPx for the primary camera, 48 MPx for the ultra-telephoto camera, 12 MPx telephoto camera, and 20 MPx wide-angle camera.

On the front, there is a 20 MPx camera for capturing selfies and video calls. We remind you that this camera is currently still in first place in the DXOMARK ranking.

The smartphone’s operating system is in the MIUI 12 version. The 4500 mAh battery consists of a combination of two lithium-ion batteries, each with a capacity of 2250 mAh. Charging is possible via ultra-fast 120W wired charging or 50W wireless charging.
