At the end of December 2020, the company Xiaomi officially unveiled its new flagship model Xiaomi Mi 11. Among the first things it came with is a new Snapdragon 888 5G processor, but in its specs you’ll also find a 120 Hz AMOLED display with durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus of the sixth generation, plus fast 50W battery charging.
A top-tier camera with software improvements and refined audio from the popular Harman / Kardon brand also can’t be missing.
Record price, Xiaomi.EU system
The flagship for 2021, Xiaomi Mi 11, is hitting its lowest price ever since it went on sale. The deal is thanks to the well-known international seller TradingShenzhen, who discounted both 128 and 256 GB versions of the smartphone.
A big advantage of the seller is that they offer special Global Priority shipping, so you won’t pay any extra fees. They handle customs clearance and any VAT for you. The smartphone price + shipping is therefore the final amount you pay.
Great service: The seller offers installation of the official global MIUI ROM for a fee of €25. They’ve improved their processes, so installation is now taking much less time. Waiting time is 5 – 10 days. However, if you want to use contactless Google Pay payments, we recommend choosing Xiaomi.eu firmware, where payments work at 100%.

We recommend choosing Global Priority shipping, where you won’t pay anything extra. Customs fees and any VAT are handled by the seller directly for you. Shipping can be selected in the cart only, after you enter the delivery address. Delivery with Global Priority usually takes about 15 days, but it may also take longer.

Firmware: What’s the difference between Xiaomi.EU and Global Mi?
Xiaomi.EU is a community ROM—it’s a modified system developed by the community around Xiaomi. This system is maintained by the Czech/Slovak Miuios.cz community. Global Mi is basically the official global system from Xiaomi that Xiaomi puts into its European phones.
The main and important difference is that on Xiaomi.EU, NFC payments work via Google Pay, but on Global Mi they don’t. Since the system is installed on the phone via flashing, Global Mi didn’t go through the Safetynet security check. However, this has been solved in the Xiaomi.EU system. If you want to use Google Pay payments, you need to take this into account.
We also used the Chinese version of Mi 11 ourselves
We also ordered the Xiaomi Mi 11 from the seller TradingShenzhen. We described our entire experience in an article back in February this year. The package arrived within about 10 days and was packed perfectly—plus we even got small gifts.
As for the Chinese version of the smartphone, it also works without any problems here. Thanks to the Snapdragon 888 processor, it supports full networks across Europe, including the B20 LTE band. There are absolutely no issues with mobile network connectivity. We use Telekom as our carrier, and in the city center of Trenčín on the 4G LTE network using the Speedtest app, we measured speeds of 124 Mbps download and 66 Mbps upload.
When it comes to the MIUI system, after one week of use we unlocked the bootloader on the smartphone and installed a modified MIUI ROM from Miuios.cz. We followed the guide on the forum, and the whole installation took about 15 minutes. On this system, Google Pay payments also work without any issues, which we use every day.
We don’t recommend doing this for inexperienced users, because if the process is done incorrectly, your smartphone could be bricked, and only service technicians in China can then restore it.
The advantage, however, is that for a small surcharge the seller will re-install the smartphone for you directly—also on the global MIUI version like the one used in the official global Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone. If you want to do the installation yourself, you just need to download the corresponding firmware and follow the instructions.
If you want to save a lot, buying the Chinese version of Mi 11 is definitely worth it, and using it in everyday life is completely hassle-free. Before you buy, you can read our in-depth review that we published on our sister website ChinaPlanet.sk.

Xiaomi Mi 11: 6.81″ AMOLED up to 1500 nits
The Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone comes in an elegant glass-metal body that's just 8.06 mm thin, with rounded edges and a 6.81″ AMOLED display with 2K resolution. The manufacturer also thinks about accessories—you get a protective film and a clear case right in the box.
The display features ultra-thin bezels with a cutout for the front camera, plus a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 480 Hz, and brightness up to 1500 nits, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and the latest protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The display smoothness peaks at 515 ppi.
There’s also support for the DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, and the mentioned refresh rate that’s dynamic. Depending on how you’re currently using the device, it can switch across four levels: 30 Hz, 60 Hz, 90 Hz and 120 Hz.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G and LPDDR5 RAM
In terms of performance, there’s an entirely new and powerful flagship octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, made using a 5 nm process and with support for 5G connectivity (1 x 2,84 GHz Cortex X1 (Kryo 680) + 3 x 2,42 GHz (Cortex A78) + 4 x 1,8 GHz (Cortex A55)).
The processor is paired with the Adreno 660 graphics accelerator, which will especially please mobile gamers, as well as an AI chip labeled Hexagon 780. In AnTuTu tests, this smartphone scored more than 745 000 points.
RAM has also been improved this time—it’s LPDDR5 type (up to 6400 Mbps). The highest configuration gets up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
108 MPx camera and up to 8K OIS video
The device also includes a top-tier rear camera. The main sensor offers up to 108 MPx with an f/1.85 aperture (sensor size 1/1.33″) and also features optical image stabilization. This main camera is complemented by a 13 MPx (f/2.4) ultra-wide sensor with a 123-degree field of view.
For the third time, there’s a 5 MP macro sensor (f/2.4) with a focal length of up to 50 mm, enabling it to produce truly microscopic photos. The camera also includes automatic focusing and a powerful LED flash. The manufacturer highlights night shots and video recording up to 8K resolution with optical image stabilization.

The manufacturer also built in, besides an in-display fingerprint reader, a heart-rate monitoring sensor into the smartphone. This feature is especially common in fitness accessories. The upgrade also includes a new vibration motor, which players will particularly appreciate for reactions.
MIUI 12.5, Wi-Fi 6, 4600 mAh and 55W charging
Xiaomi also focused on software optimization. You’ll get MIUI 12.5, a system that delivers higher speed and double process efficiency. There’s also support for Wi-Fi 6 (up to 3,5 Gbps), NFC, GPS + GLONASS, as well as powerful stereo speakers from Harman / Kardon.
A battery with a total capacity of up to 4600 mAh is paired with ultra-fast 55W wired charging (100% battery in 45 minutes), up to 50W wireless charging (100% battery in 53 minutes), and 10W reverse charging—for example for accessories. Xiaomi is also launching the sale of its new fast wireless charger on this occasion.
The smartphone will be sold in three matte color options: blue, white, and black. There will also be two limited editions with a silver and gold color combination featuring leather materials.

The package won’t include a charger—only a charging cable. However, you’ll be able to buy it separately for 99 Chinese yuan (12 € / 15 USD). It will be a 55W charger with a new gallium-nitride technology and compact dimensions. Additional accessories will also be available.
