As soon as next Monday, 29.3.2021, Xiaomi will unveil several interesting products at its big presentation. They’ll include smartphones from the Mi 11 lineup, such as Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, Mi 11 Pro, and also Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will represent the highest possible level of premium technologies. Improvements will span different segments, and among the key ones are undoubtedly top-tier cameras—plus it will also bring a completely new battery manufacturing technology.
Silicon-oxygen anode battery in Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
Since the official unveiling of the eagerly awaited flagship smartphone is getting closer and closer, new reports connected to this device are gradually appearing online. Most recently, the Chinese giant revealed a new technology used in the battery of this smartphone.
The battery in Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will be made using a new technology that can deliver higher capacity, faster charging, or a longer lifespan in the same size body. The announced silicon-oxygen anode battery therefore really looks promising.
Theoretically, with this technology the battery can achieve up to 10x the capacity compared to a graphite battery in the same sized package. Another useful benefit is improved heat dissipation, which was proportionally higher as charging power increases.
The manufacturer also claims that the new silicon-oxygen anode batteries will bring much higher efficiency and—most importantly—longer lifespan than today’s silicon-carbon batteries.
The world’s first smartphone with such a battery
The Mi 11 Ultra model will be the very first smartphone in the world to get this new type of battery. We expect Xiaomi to explain the advantages of this new technology in more detail at its upcoming presentation. For now, there’s nothing left to do but praise the manufacturer for continuous innovation that many smartphone owners will appreciate.
Besides the Mi 11 Ultra smartphone, other interesting devices will also be unveiled on Monday. You can look forward to an upper mid-range model in the form of Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, the flagship Mi 11 Pro, and the successor to the legendary Mi MIX series.
