Xiaomi is once again expanding its home and travel product portfolio. The new Xiaomi Mijia Portable Coffee Maker is designed for all coffee lovers who want to enjoy quality espresso even when they’re on the go.
Thanks to its compact size, built-in battery, and a high pressure of up to 20 bar, it can make coffee on a trip, in the office, during camping, or on a business trip without needing a traditional coffee machine.
Elegant design and compact size
The portable coffee maker measures just 71.5 × 71.5 × 245 mm, so it fits easily into a backpack or a bigger bag. Its weight of about 1.05 kg isn’t the absolute lowest, but considering the built-in battery, a powerful pump, and water heating, it’s a very solid result.
A minimalist design typical for Xiaomi products is complemented by water and dust resistance thanks to the IP55 certification. That means the device can handle even tougher conditions during hiking or camping, and it’s also easier to clean after brewing.
20 bar pressure for real espresso
The biggest draw of the new model is its pump with pressure up to 20 bar. It’s a value you’ll also find in many home espresso coffee machines. High pressure ensures stable coffee extraction and creates a rich crema, which is characteristic of quality espresso.
Xiaomi also implemented precise temperature control at around 92 °C, which is the ideal setting for brewing espresso. The result should be a consistent taste no matter whether you make your morning coffee at home or out in nature.
Capsule and ground-coffee support
A major advantage is versatility. Xiaomi Mijia Portable Coffee Maker supports two ways of brewing coffee. You can use regular ground coffee or compatible capsules, so you can choose the method that suits you best.
This makes the device significantly more flexible than many competing portable coffee makers, which often support only one brewing type. Max cup capacity is 60 ml, while the heating tank holds up to a maximum of 140 ml of water.
Fast brewing and USB-C charging
The manufacturer states that the actual coffee extraction takes about 45 seconds. The coffee maker supports brewing with both hot and cold water, so depending on the situation you can prepare classic espresso or a refreshing drink without waiting for the water to heat up.
Xiaomi says that with one charge you can make up to 400 cups — but only if you pour in already hot water. If it needs to heat the water itself, the runtime drops to something over three cups.
Power is provided by a trio of batteries with a capacity of 2500 mAh. Charging is done via a modern USB-C connector with up to 45 W power. The battery charges from 20 to 80% in about 30 minutes, and a full charge takes around 80 minutes. A practical benefit is that you can also charge it from a power bank—something you’ll appreciate especially during hikes outside civilization.

Price and availability
Xiaomi has so far introduced a new portable coffee maker for the Chinese market. The official price after sales launch is 559 Chinese yuan, which comes to €72. The manufacturer hasn’t announced a global release yet, but given the popularity of Mijia products, it’s reasonable to expect it will eventually show up via international sellers. Of course, you should factor in higher prices due to VAT and new customs duties from the EU.
