Xiaomi, as the huge Chinese tech giant, is preparing a new generation of its foldable smartphone, Xiaomi MIX Fold 4.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 4: Here are the first leaks of information
The first leaks about the foldable lineup were brought by the popular tipster Evan Blass. He says that Xiaomi will launch a pair of foldable smartphones in China—Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and MIX Flip, already during August.
Even before the official launch, we also know the first photo of the design of the back of the MIX Fold 4 device. It should feature a faux-leather finish, and in the upper part, a rectangular module with four cameras.

The design also includes a LED flash on the left side, as well as a label indicating a cooperation with Leica on the right side. Evan Blass also claims that the thickness of this foldable device will be under 10 mm. It will even offer water-resistance certification, IP X8.
Performance for the foldable MIX Fold 4 should be handled by the current flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That suggests it will compete with Honor Magic V3 or the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro as well.
The rear cameras will include a 50 MPx main sensor with Leica Summilux lenses, with OIS support and a sensor size of 1/1.55″. There will also be a 12 MPx ultra-wide sensor, plus the OmniVision OV60A telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 10 MPx periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom
The device is expected to come with a battery with a capacity of over 5000 mAh. The smartphone will also support wireless charging. The new MIX Fold 4 foldable also appeared in the well-known 3C certification. This happened already last month, and it was exactly this certification that revealed that the device could support satellite connectivity. More details are not known yet.
What we do know is the model code name of this model, “goku,” and the internal model number “N18”. This smartphone will be sold only on the Chinese market, and this exclusive availability is also confirmed by the model label: “24072PX77C” and “24076PX3BC”. The letter “C” at the end of the designation confirms sales for the Chinese market.
Xiaomi MIX Flip: A foldable smartphone for the global market?
MIX Fold is not the only new foldable coming. The Chinese manufacturer is also thinking about global customers, and for markets outside China it is preparing a device under the name Xiaomi MIX Flip. This smartphone was originally planned for release back in 2021, but it looks like we’ll get it only this year after all.
The information leaks come from the Turkish market, where it should also be sold. MIX Flip has the code name “ruyi” and the internal model number “N8”. At the same time, this device was originally being developed under the code name “argo.” That is changing now, but in this case we still don’t know the technical specifications or the foldable dimensions.
It’s expected that a trio of models—MIX Fold 4, MIX Flip—along with Redmi K70 Ultra, and many other products will be unveiled during July or August 2024. And we’re already looking forward to the final configurations as well as the launch of sales for these devices.
