The new headquarters required a significant investment
It was Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, who officially opened the new complex located in the city center called Optics Valley in Hubei province.
This new headquarters, whose costs are estimated at approximately $1.5 billion, covers an area of approximately 52,000 m². The estimated employee capacity is approximately 2,400 – 3,000 employees.
Construction started back in 2017 and the concrete structure was completed in 25. November / October 2018. After this date, finishing works were carried out. The new Xiaomi headquarters remained under constant construction until yesterday, when all work was finally successfully completed.
As confirmed by the company itself, this new headquarters will become the second AI center, through which a new technology innovation center will be set up and future scientific research will be conducted.
