The Smart Band series has been selling for years in the tens of millions of units. Its eleventh generation was introduced by Xiaomi in early September in China. After that, the band showed up on the manufacturer’s global pages, and now you can buy it in Slovakia too.
Xiaomi also confirmed that outside of China, a NFC version and ceramic edition will be sold.
On the global website, it glows in three colors—white is for the ceramic model.
The international page shows the standard Smart Band 11 and the NFC version in Midnight Black, Glacier Silver, and Mystic Rose. Pearl White is reserved for the ceramic edition; you can’t select it separately. The names are different from China—the band body is the same. Timing matters more, though. When Xiaomi puts a product on the global website, it usually takes only a few weeks before it goes on sale outside China.
At Xiaomi’s China launch, they showed four versions of the bracelet at once. In the first sale, the base model was priced at 289 yuan, the version with NFC at 339 yuan, and the ceramic edition plus the all-metal Unibody with a body made from a single piece of metal at 399 yuan. In euro terms, that’s roughly 35 to 48 EUR. The strap lineup has also expanded. Alongside the basic TPU, you get a silk knitted strap, a leather bracelet, and a magnetic fluororubber strap. In mid-September, a fifth version also arrived in China: ceramic with a three-color glaze for 499 yuan.
NFC and ceramics are going global—silence about the all-metal Unibody version
From that Chinese lineup of four, the global website mentions only the NFC version and the ceramic edition. NFC is the bigger novelty. On the global Smart Band 10 page, you’ll find only the standard model, the Glimmer Edition, and ceramics—there’s no NFC version among them. So the eleventh generation brings NFC back to the international lineup. Payments will work in the usual way via the Xiaomi Pay platform.
The ceramic edition isn’t just a different color. The base band and the NFC version have an aluminum-alloy frame and TPU straps. The ceramic edition gets a ceramic frame and a fluororubber strap. Xiaomi also states that the ceramic includes the display cover glass.
You can feel it in the weight. The ceramic edition body weighs 21,45 grams; the base model weighs 15,58 grams, and the NFC version weighs 16 grams. Even the dimensions are slightly larger: 47,76 × 23,89 mm versus 47,44 × 23,66 mm. Xiaomi already had ceramics in its global lineup with Smart Band 10.

Not a word was said about the all-metal Unibody version. That was actually the biggest novelty at the China premiere. Xiaomi didn’t say whether it will also come outside of China.
Two thousand nits is just the tip—the entire surface glows like on a ten
Up front there’s a 1.72-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 212 × 520 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and two-millimeter-wide bezels. Xiaomi promises brightness of 2 000 nits, but in the specs table it lists 1 500 nits with automatic brightness regulation. Two thousand nits will be reached by the band only in certain scenarios and only for part of the screen. The whole display will light up to 1 500 nits—just like on Smart Band 10.
The body is 9,99 mm thick without the heart-rate sensor bump. Compared to the ten’s 10,95 mm, that’s about 9 % less, and Xiaomi hasn’t made a thinner band yet. It helped with a new graphite battery with higher energy density. Xiaomi also moved the quick-release mechanism lower, so the triangular gap at your wrist is a tenth smaller.

One function from China is missing on the global web. The Chinese version measures HRV heart-rate variability during sleep and evaluates it using AI. The international HRV page says nothing, and you won’t find it in the health section either. Whether it’s just an omission in the text or a trimmed-down feature set, Xiaomi hasn’t explained. We covered the details of the Chinese version in the article about the Chinese launch.
Heart rate is measured with two diodes, and now also underwater
The heart-rate sensor got two LEDs and two photodiodes instead of one pair. Xiaomi added a new proprietary algorithm and calibration based on medical devices. In China, it was praised for accuracy by 98,2 percent. The new feature is heart-rate measurement underwater, so your swimming data should be more complete.
Heart rate is monitored all day and it alerts you to unusual values. At rest, it measures every ten minutes, and during movement every minute. Blood oxygen levels are also measured every ten minutes, but you have to enable the function manually. If the value is low, it warns you with vibration. It also adds all-day stress monitoring with a reminder to slow down, plus tracking of your menstrual cycle with forecasts.
The sleep assistant now breaks down what worsens sleep quality and what helps it. Recommendations are built from your history and recorded activities. The band records your daily activities on its own; you can also manually add training, sleep, or meals.
Over 150 sports and heart rate to the cyclocomputer
There are over 150 sports modes. The band can send heart-rate data via Bluetooth to a cyclocomputer or to a third-party app that supports it.
There’s no proprietary satellite module in the sensor list—during training it uses your phone’s position. Besides the optical heart-rate sensor and an oximeter, it has an accelerometer, gyroscope, electronic compass, and an ambient light sensor.
It works with iPhones better than before
Xiaomi at the 11.11 is highlighting its collaboration with Apple. Notifications will show from the iPhone and also from the Xiaomi phone at the same time, calls and messages sync in real time. You need HyperOS 3 on your Xiaomi phone, iOS 14 on your iPhone, and the Xiaomi Interconnectivity app on both. The band can also work as a remote shutter for your iPhone camera.
A new trick is flipping pages. From the band’s display, you can move a short video, an e-book page, or a slide in a presentation. The connection runs over Bluetooth 5.4, it vibrates with a linear motor, and the band can take your Android phone with Android 8.0 or iOS 14 (and newer). It’s controlled via the Mi Fitness app.
Twenty-one days applies only to the power-saving mode
The battery is 233 mAh, same as with the 10. 21 days, however, applies to power-saving mode with precise sleep, stress, and blood oxygen measurements turned off. With normal use with everything on, it’s set for ten days. With the always-on display on, six days. It charges magnetically and a full charge takes about 90 minutes. The strap fits wrists with a circumference of 135 to 210 mm.
It can handle water
Water resistance is still 5 ATM, which means 10 minutes underwater at a depth of 50 meters. A pool and swimming near the shore are fine. Hot showers, saunas, or diving aren’t—Xiaomi explicitly excludes them in these conditions. And don’t go into the water with a leather, metal, or woven strap; only the rubber one is meant for that.

Price and availability
In China, sales started on 7. September, and now the 11.11 has also reached the Slovak market. Smarty has it in its lineup—both the base version and the NFC version—in black, silver, and pink. Both are currently available to order, so expect delivery to take a bit longer.
The NFC version will cost 70 €, the base version 57 €. We saw the previous Smart Band 10 in our European warehouse for 36 euros, so the 11.11 is noticeably more expensive for now. If you’re mainly after payments with the band, it’s worth going straight for the NFC version.
