A Czech portal XM.cz published the first information on what the successor to Xiaomi Smart Band 8 could look like. The new generation in the form of Xiaomi Smart Band 9 should bring a lot of improvements you’ll definitely appreciate. The fitness band will come with a brighter AMOLED display, longer battery life, and more accurate tracking. Let’s take a look together at all the news and details.
Design and materials
Xiaomi Smart Band 9 brings a high-quality and elegant body made of an aluminum alloy with a sandblasted finish. It will be available in 5 colors: silver, black, pink, blue, and purple. Its dimensions are 46,53 × 21,63 × 10,95 mm and the weight is 27,4 g. You’ll be able to wear the band on your wrist, as a pendant, or attached to a shoe.
Display and battery
The oval 1.62-inch display will have a resolution of 192 × 490 pixels (326 ppi) and up to 1200 nits brightness, which improves readability in sunlight. It supports automatic brightness adjustment and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
With a 233 mAh capacity, which is 23% more than before, the band lasts up to 21 days with normal use and 9 days with the Always on Display (AoD) feature. A full charge will take approximately 60 minutes.
Connectivity and sensors
Bluetooth 5.4 improves connection and security. The Mi Fitness app lets you set up and track your data. Sensors include a 3-axis accelerometer, a 3-axis gyroscope, a more accurate heart rate sensor, and a blood oxygenation sensor.
Sleep tracking and new features
The new sleep tracking system provides more accurate sleep data and expert tips to improve it. The vibration motor offers 20 different modes for notifications and an alarm.
Sports activities and durability
The watch will support more than 150 sports activities, measure your heart rate and calories, and also offer 10 running courses. Water resistance will be at the level of 5 ATM.
Box contents and accessories
In the box, you’ll find a band with a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) strap, a charging cable (an adapter is not included) and a brief user manual.
Availability and price
The presentation and sales date are not yet known; the expected price, according to the XM.cz portal that brought this leak, is around 1000 Kč (approximately 39,63 €).
