Among the new releases from Xiaomi, besides a premium smartphone or smart lamp, there is also a new HiFi speaker, Xiaomi Sound Move. The Chinese tech giant brings this product in collaboration with the well-known audio brand Harman.
New HiFi speaker Xiaomi Sound Move
The Chinese manufacturer has officially unveiled its new speaker, the Xiaomi Sound Move. It stands out with a solid metal build, as well as symmetrical stereo drivers. On the top, you’ll find physical hardware buttons for playback control and for connecting.
The anodized aluminum surface finish increases resistance to water and dust, even with IP 66 certification. It features a four-piece aluminum design, as well as improvements from Harman / Kardon.

What’s interesting is the built-in gravity sensor. This sensor lets the speaker adjust its optimal audio output depending on where it’s placed. If the speaker is positioned horizontally, it has a stereo sound mode. Meanwhile, in a vertical position, it produces a louder and richer sound, directed straight at the user.
The Xiaomi Sound Move measures 177 x 55.5 x 55.5 mm and weighs 568 grams. Inside, there’s a left and right 1.75″ driver, complemented by a front and a rear passive radiator that helps increase resonance. The result is a rich, full sound with power of 15 W and a maximum acoustic pressure of up to 90 dB. The sound profile is also shaped by the AudioEFX tuning from Harman / Kardon.
The speaker also supports the Chinese smart assistant XiaoAI, which you can use to control various smart products around your home. You can also pair two Sound Move speakers to create high-quality stereo. In total, you can connect up to 8 speakers to build a more complex audio system for your apartment, house, or office.
For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2,4 GHz / 5 GHz), Bluetooth version 5.3, and an AirPlay connection for 2 from Apple or Xiaomi Miaobo.
With a 4150 mAh battery, you get up to 21 hours of playback, and in intelligent standby mode it offers 5.5 days. There’s also a USB-C port for fast charging of this speaker with power up to 22 W.
Price and availability
The new wireless HiFi speaker called Xiaomi Sound Move will start selling in just the next few days, but exclusively in the Chinese market. The official retail price is set at 699 Chinese yuan, which is roughly about €92 at the current exchange rate.
For global availability, though, we’ll probably need to wait a few more weeks—if it ever comes at all.
