Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi surprisingly brings its flagship and premium smart TV, called Xiaomi TV Max, to the global market with a diagonal of up to 86″. Due to logistics, oversized TVs have so far mainly been a domain of the domestic, Chinese market. Now the situation is changing and you’ll be able to buy the new product directly in Europe as well.
Xiaomi TV Max 86″: A massive smart TV with premium specs
This TV, however, isn’t a hot new release. As Xiaomi typically does with most of its global products, it’s essentially a rebranding for an original Chinese device. In China, smart TVs have already been sold for longer under the name Redmi TV Max 86″.
This model will become the biggest option that the Chinese brand offers for the global market. The TV’s metal body, including the integrated metal stand, measures 1924,04 x 441,42 x 1181,94 millimeters. Total weight then comes to 44,5 kilograms.
Dolby Vision IQ, MediaTek processor and Android TV
An 86-inch display turns your living room into a real home cinema, thanks to the built-in audio system with 2 speakers (4 drivers) with a total power of 30 W (15 W + 15 W). The system also offers support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Audio, and DTS:X.
If we look at the technical specifications, there’s an 86″ 4K Ultra HD panel with a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The panel offers 1.07 billion colors, a 90% DCI-P3 color gamut, a 178° viewing angle, 8-bit colors, as well as FRC technology. It also supports Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ and HLG.
In the equipment, it also includes a powerful quad-core processor MediaTek MT9617, complemented by a Mali-G52 MC1 graphics chip, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The premium TV also offers great connectivity, including an HDMI 2.1 port, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.0.
On the software side, this model has Android TV 11, along with Chromecast support and the Play Store with TV apps. The TV also supports voice commands via the built-in Google Assistant, which you can also enter through a 360° Bluetooth remote control.
Price and availability of the new smart TV
The smart TV Xiaomi TV Max 86″ has so far only appeared on Xiaomi’s official website for the global market. We don’t yet know the official selling price or availability in Europe. However, we expect a price definitely above the 1000 € mark.
