One of the new features the Xiaomi brand introduced is the Xiaomi Watch Color 2 smartwatch. It’s the successor to the watches that many considered among the prettiest smartwatches. They kept the AMOLED display, which has been slightly enlarged, and they bring support for tracking up to 117 activities.
A beautiful AMOLED display
The big launch of new products that took place on 27.9. also brought the successor to the Xiaomi Watch Color 2 smartwatches. Compared to the first generation, the watch display has been slightly increased from 1.39″ to 1.43″. Xiaomi, however, stayed with AMOLED technology, so you can look forward to a beautiful and crisp display with vivid colors and good visibility.
The watches will be available in 3 color options with straps in 6 different colors. The strap is said to be made from materials that feel good on the skin and don’t cause any unpleasant irritation. With these color options, Xiaomi is clearly targeting a younger generation, but there’s a choice for everyone.
200 watch face designs and 117 activities
You can also customize the watch face design. Whether you prefer digital or classic hands-style designs, you have up to 200 watch faces to choose from.
The Xiaomi Watch Color 2 is designed for active people who like to track their activity during workouts or other movement activities. You get tracking for up to 117 different activities, during which the watches collect various data.
GPS, NFC, and app support
The watch lineup also includes GPS, so while tracking your activity it will record your location and distance traveled. You’ll also appreciate support for third-party apps. That way, you’ll be able to install various apps on the watch. Which apps will be available and how many there will be—we’ll see in time.
The watches also received support for measuring blood oxygen content, 24-hour heart activity tracking, and sleep monitoring. Besides GPS, you’ll also find support for NFC (of course for China). The battery capacity is 470 mAh, and the battery life should reach 12 days.
Price and availability
The watch price starts at 899 Chinese yuan, which is approximately 118 EUR. For now, they were presented only for the domestic, Chinese market, where sales start from September 30. We expect they’ll soon be added to international sellers’ listings at a higher price. Availability of the global version is not known yet.
