At the heart of all the news Xiaomi has just revealed for the Chinese market is their own, fully internally designed and developed chipset, branded XRING O1. This processor embodies Xiaomi’s vision for the future of technology and is also proof of massive investments into research and development.

Xiaomi has announced that over the next five years they plan to invest an additional 200 billion yuan into research and development, underlining their ambitions in their own chips and the entire “human-car-homes” ecosystem.

XRING O1 is a 3 nm chip with high raw performance

XRING O1 is manufactured using an advanced 3 nm second-generation process from TSMC, making it one of the most modern and energy-efficient chips on the market. With incredible 19 billion transistors packed into an area of only 109 mm², XRING O1 achieves a lab score exceeding 3 million points in the AnTuTu Benchmark (more precisely 3 004 137 points). This score clearly places it among performance leaders—especially impressive for the first-generation chip.

The CPU architecture of this chip consists of ten cores with an innovative four-cluster arrangement. It includes two ultra-big cores, Cortex-X925, delivering a boost to peak performance of up to 36% versus previous processor generations.

These cores reach clock speeds of up to 3.9 GHz. Joining them are four high-performance cores clocked at 3.4 GHz, two additional cores at 1.89 GHz, and two of the most power-efficient cores at 1.80 GHz for maximum efficiency.

Thanks to this split and four efficient CPU clusters, XRING O1 can effectively handle tasks, optimize power consumption, and dynamically adjust performance according to current needs. That means Xiaomi 15S Pro with XRING O1 delivers excellent performance in all usage scenarios—from demanding games to everyday multitasking.

The new product doesn’t fall behind in graphics either

Graphics performance is handled by a robust 16-core GPU with the latest Immortalis-G925 technology. This unit delivers impressive graphics power, enabling smooth gameplay of the latest games even at the highest settings.

In addition, dynamic GPU performance management technology significantly reduces power consumption by intelligently switching GPU states based on the current usage scenario, ensuring the best balance between performance and efficiency.

Overall, XRING O1 ensures that devices like today’s newly unveiled Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra will stand out with smooth operation, low power consumption, and efficient heat dissipation. App launch speed for everyday tasks has been reduced by an impressive 30.4% thanks to optimized software and hardware, and all of this was achieved with significantly lower temperatures even under heavy gaming loads.

This chip is a true start of a new era for Xiaomi and their hardware technologies, which aim to compete even with long-time players in the processor market. We’re curious to see real-world results, but due to limited availability of devices with this chip, there may not be many comparative tests. Let’s see how the situation evolves over time.
