The new MIUI 12 user interface overlay version is officially out, and we already know all the features. Now we just have to wait until the new system is available for our Xiaomi smartphones.
The manufacturer has revealed a detailed release timeline for each version, and we’re bringing it to you in our overview.

Xiaomi has so far released only the Chinese version of MIUI, which includes Chinese and English, so it’s adapted for the Chinese market. Updates will first reach models in mainland China, so keep in mind that the list contains model names meant for China.

You don’t have to wait for the global version
If you’re a true Xiaomi fan, you definitely know the Czech-Slovak community Miuios.cz. The community develops its own modified MIUI version, which is based on the Chinese version and includes almost all world languages, including Slovak and Czech.
Their modified MIUI version became popular especially among true brand enthusiasts who flash it onto their smartphones. The installation process is quite complicated for less skilled users, as you need to unlock the bootloader. However, we won’t go into that now.
If you’re among the users of the local community’s MIUI ROM, you can look forward to the new MIUI 12 much sooner. We expect the community to release its version at the same time as the public beta version, i.e. on 8. May. They’ve even confirmed they’re working on the translation and will try to release their version as soon as possible.
We’re rooting for them—hope everything goes well. Once MIUI 12 from the local community is available, we’ll bring you a detailed review.
