The Redmi series is extremely popular. It combines great specs with a surprisingly competitive price tag. Reaching a lower price, however, clearly comes with a downside in the form of later software updates. The first smartphone from the Redmi Note 13 series is now getting an update to HyperOS. Well, as they say, better late than never.
Updated 13.3. at 10:05: The update has already reached Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G as well!
Shortly after this article was published, we heard from our reader, who is also the owner of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G with a 200 MPx camera. He sent us a screenshot confirming that the latest HyperOS software overlay is also available for this model.
Specifically, it’s an update for the Global distribution of the smartphone (MI) with the label HyperOS 1.0.1.0.UNFMIXM. The update package is up to 4.7 GB, which indicates a substantial update with all the new features.
Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G will be the first updated model
Phones from the Redmi Note 13 lineup first hit the market with the MIUI 14 overlay. Now, it’s time for the variant that’s getting an update to the latest HyperOS interface.
Other models from the series are still in line for now, but we think their users won’t have to wait long either and will get the new software as well.
The global version of the latest firmware for the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is labeled OS1.0.4.0. UNRMIXM. The software is built on the Android 14 operating system.
For now, you can test it only with the Mi Pilot program, but the update with the stable system could reach all the other devices within the next few days, or possibly weeks.
Even though the Redmi Note 13 series launched at a time when HyperOS already existed, the Chinese giant didn’t roll out the new overlay right from the start for a simple reason.
At the time these smartphones were being developed, HyperOS simply wasn’t stable and developed enough for these mid-range phones to debut with it. But no one probably expected the update release to take until March, or even April.
If you own any model from the mentioned series, let us know in the discussion below the article whether you’ve already received the update to the new HyperOS.
