Purifier for asthma and allergy sufferers

Just a few days after Xiaomi unveiled its first cordless vacuum cleaner against dust mites, here’s another home product for you. It’s the new Xiaomi Mijia Dust Mite Vacuum Cleaner. It’s corded, but it brings several improvements for a more advanced and more detailed clean.

According to official information from the Chinese manufacturer, the new Xiaomi Mijia Dust Mite is presented as a vacuum cleaner for textiles, mattresses, and all kinds of clothing. It offers high disinfection capability and helps eliminate unpleasant dust mites that trouble especially some allergy sufferers.

For its operation it has a powerful, high-speed motor capable of reaching up to 100 000 revolutions per minute, and its suction power is rated at great 12 kPa. Combined with a vortex cyclone system and a 20 cm suction nozzle, it delivers an efficiency rate of up to 99,97% for particles sized 0,3 microns.

For sterilization against bacteria, dust mites, and allergens, the Xiaomi Mijia Dust Mite purifier is built with an ultraviolet (UV-C) technology, combined with a hot air dehumidifier (up to 50 degrees Celsius). This technology eliminates up to 99% of pathogens and up to 90% of dust mites.

Unlike the previous model, this one is corded, doesn’t require charging, and its connection is a standard plug into a power outlet. However, that can be practical—for example, for long-term, detailed deep cleaning.

Price and availability of the device

The price of the new Xiaomi Mijia Dust Mite Vacuum Cleaner starts at 199 yuan. That’s approximately 25 € / 29 USD at the current exchange rate. It will be available only on the domestic, Chinese market for now. However, it’s likely that we’ll see this product in the listings of well-known international retailers soon.
