While Xiaomi smartphones keep coming out one after another, the manufacturer doesn’t really push out laptops at the same pace. And that’s actually a good thing. For one, their current laptops are still great, and besides, developing a quality laptop takes more time.
A new laptop after a long time
It seems that the development of the new Xiaomi laptop was successful. The company announced on its official Weibo profile that in just 3 days, specifically 26.3.2019, it will unveil a new laptop. It will be both the thinnest and the lightest laptop from the company.
The only thing we know about the laptop so far is that it will weigh just 1.07 kg. This already suggests that Chinese Xiaomi wants to go after products known for Apple—specifically the MacBook Air. Xiaomi’s new laptop will be even lighter than the mentioned US competitor. Apple MacBook Air weighs 1.25 kg, and for example the Huawei MateBook 12 weighs 1.3 kg.
It’s clear that the new thin Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air will come with a 12″ display. We don’t expect the manufacturer to be able to build a laptop with a 13.3-inch screen at that weight. Not because we don’t believe in Xiaomi, but because that’s very unlikely considering the laws of physics.
Other than the launch date and the weight of the new Xiaomi laptop, we don’t know anything else yet. So all that’s left for us is to wait for the official presentation.
