The Chinese giant’s sub-brand Xiaomi, the company Redmi, is preparing a new series of affordable devices labeled Redmi Note 12. And we already know the official launch date, but also the individual models that will be part of this series.
The launch is this month!
On the official Redmi Weibo account, a new poster appeared in the early hours of the morning, teasing the expected Redmi Note 12 smartphone series launch. For now, we don’t know the exact day of the launch, but the manufacturer has revealed it will happen still this month, as expected.
The poster states that the smartphones will bring 2 new amazing technologies, with one of them set to hold a world first. The manufacturer hasn’t confirmed what it will be yet, but in connection with the new Redmi smartphone series, leaks are talking about ultra-fast 210 W charging, and it’s quite possible that this will be it.
The Redmi Note 12 series will again get several models
After the launch of the Redmi Note 11 series in India, as well as on other markets, for example in Europe, we can look forward to the upcoming generation too. As is customary, Redmi Note 12 will first be unveiled in China and only then will the global launch follow, with a slightly adjusted naming.
We already have several leak reports about the new budget smartphone series, which suggest not only the names of the individual products, but also their specs.
These are the expected technical specifications
The information comes from the well-known source Mukul Sharma. He says that the lineup will include Redmi Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G and Note 12 Pro+ 5G. All smartphones will support the popular and fast 5G connectivity that’s already available in Slovakia.
Devices that haven’t been officially announced yet appeared as a teaser with select online retailers. The price, which is fixed at 9999 Indian rupees, also points to this. That means they are not the final specifications. However, it suggests preparations for these devices.
Previous leak reports said that the 12th Redmi Note series could be brought to market as early as during next month. Still, it’s unofficial and unverified information. In the Chinese 3C certification, these devices are listed under the code names 22101316C, 22101316UCP and 22101316UC.
Ultra-fast up to 210 W charging and 50 MPx camera
The leaks also revealed that at least one model will support ultra-fast 210 W charging. It will most likely be the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The list also includes a new charger with the code MDY-13-EU and a maximum charging speed of 20 V DC / 10,5 A (210 W).
The equipment of the base model should include a 6.5″ display, but also a MediaTek Dimensity 820 MT6875 processor. There will also be 6 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage, a 32 MPx front camera, and a 5100 mAh battery.
The standard Redmi Note 12 model could offer 67 W fast charging, while the Pro version would boost performance up to 120 W. It should also include up to a 50 MPx main camera sensor. And Redmi product manager Lu Weibing said that the Redmi Note series will arrive every six months. This series is set to focus on performance as well as the experience—like a kind of “mini flagship”.
