Xiaomi slightly hides its dual video recording feature. However, you can enable simultaneous front and rear camera recording. Just a few simple steps, which we’ll describe in detail in today’s guide.

These are simple steps for dual recording

HyperOS, the new system from Xiaomi, offers some photo modes right in the basics when you unbox your smartphone. You’ll find a mode for full photo resolution, as well as a time-lapse shot, a short film mode, a slow-motion shot, or a long exposure.

But that’s not all. The Chinese manufacturer also offers its own shop with downloadable photo modes.

Among them, you’ll also find a dual video mode, meaning simultaneous recording using both the front and rear cameras. Downloading such a mode (and similar ones) is very easy. You just need a few simple steps.

How to download a new camera mode:

  1. Open the Camera app
  2. Go to More, where you’ll find additional camera functions
  3. Select Short film, then the Dual video mode
  4. In Dual video mode, you can change the camera positions and switch the display style

Here’s what such a mode looks like—you can see it in the attached photos. You can use it to record different vlogs, as well as documents for work. At sports events, you can react to what’s happening on the field in real time. And while traveling, you can capture various sights or little curiosities. The result is in your hands.
