If you’re a regular customer on AliExpress, you may have noticed those yellow coin icons you can collect and then use for discounts or gifts. In this article, we’ll show you exactly how AliExpress coins work, how to get them, how to use them, and what tricks you can use to get the most out of them.

What are AliExpress coins?
AliExpress coins are a digital currency you can collect directly in the AliExpress mobile app. Coins can’t be withdrawn like cash, but you can use them as a discount credit when buying certain products. They’re mainly used within the so-called “Coins & Coupons” section. You’ll find this section right on the home page in the AliExpress app—you can get there through this link.

The coins you earn can significantly reduce the price of products, or you can even exchange them for small gifts. If you use them strategically, you can save literally dozens of euros per year.
What value are the coins worth?
100 AliExpress coins = 1 USD. This value is fixed and won’t change. That means that, for example, if you have 500 coins, you can use them as a $5 discount on supported products.
However, coins can’t be used on all products—only on those that accept them. Always check whether the specific product allows coins to be used as a discount.
How to use coins: It’s simple
Using coins is very easy, but you need to be in the “Coins“ section. Here’s how:
- Open the AliExpress app and tap the “Coins” icon on the home screen.
- You’ll see the products where you can redeem coins.
- Choose a product and, when you buy, the discount in the form of available coins will be calculated automatically.
- Combine coins with discount coupons and save even more
Where can I check my coins?
If you want to know how many coins you have, go to the “My Coins” section in your profile—– it’s available in the PC version, but also in the AliExpress mobile app. Besides your current balance, you’ll also find your history—whether coins were earned, used, or expired.
Records are available for the last 6 months, so if you actively collect coins, it’s worth checking this section regularly.
How to get the maximum discount from your coins?
- Check the Coins section in the app every day so you don’t miss out on exclusive coin-only products
- Combine coins with discount coupons—this way you can get a double discount
- Shop in the Coin Channel section—all products in this section support coins-based discounts
- Coins expire over time, so don’t leave them for too long
The key is searching for products in the Coins section – for example, that’s where we found the popular Xiaomi Zdeer laser device for treating colds and allergies. Through this section, the coins gave us an extra discount of up to 9%, which we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise.
And what’s more, this discount can be combined with discount coupons we have available on our site in a regularly updated article. Thanks to the combination of coins and a discount coupon, for a product worth €68 you got over €10 off (almost 15%), meaning after the discount it came to a gorgeous €58. In this case, the coins activated a much larger part of the discount than the discount coupon itself.
You can also search for products manually using the standard search box located in the top-right corner of the main screen in the Coins section. Alternatively, you can use the “Discount finder”, i.e. the Discount Searcher. See the screenshot below:
In this section, AliExpress automatically recommends products for which you can activate a discount using coins—based on the products you previously viewed on Ali, i.e. on your browsing history.
It even offered us Xiaomi smartphones for which normally no discounts are available, or AliExpress blocks discount coupons for smartphones. Discounts aren’t exactly huge (1% for smartphones), but as they say—better than nothing.

Another great trick you need to know about is the so-called “Coin super discounts” subsection of this entire Coins section. 😄 You can access it by clicking the product under the Discount finder button, just like highlighted in the screenshot below.

Here you’ll find products with massive discounts—up to 60% off! For example, we found a quality Baseus 22.5W 10 000 mAh power bank that dropped from the original price of €21.69 down to an awesome €14 using coins (we also used a €0.90 Store Coupon).
Most of the time, they’re cheaper items like trackers, stickers, or home accessories—but you can also find brand-name products there, such as the mentioned power bank.
Choosing the best coin discounts
To make your purchase even easier, we picked a few products that we think offer the best value when buying with coins, and you can also get them at unusually low prices when combined with discount coupons.

But remember—you always need to have enough coins. If you happen to have a new AliExpress account, you probably won’t have any coins yet. Below you’ll find ways to get them.
Ways to get coins
You don’t only get coins for purchases, but also through various everyday activities:
1. Daily check-ins
The easiest way—just open the app every day and click the “Check-in” button. Every day you’ll earn 1 – 7 coins; the longer you check in consecutively, the more you’ll get.
2. Playing games
AliExpress offers simple games like Merge Boss, Go Go Match or Prize Land. Fun and rewards in one — by playing, you earn coins, sometimes even extra coupons.
3. Completing tasks
In the Coins → “Earn More Coins” section, you’ll find various simple tasks — browsing products, placing an order, leaving a review, tracking a shipment, and more. Each task is worth 1 – 6 coins. In total, you can earn up to 20 coins per day.
4. Special promo events
During various events and sales, AliExpress often gives away coins for free. Keep an eye on notifications and offers in the app — some promo events can even bring you hundreds of coins at once.
