- The European beta of HyperOS 4 was delivered to Xiaomi 15, 15 Ultra, 17T and 17T Pro — that exact four Xiaomi promised.
- The EEA builds are OS4.0.0.9.XOCEUXM, OS4.0.0.6.XOAEUXM, OS4.0.0.7.XPTEUXM and OS4.0.0.6.XPSEUXM.
- Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra also received global versions of the update in parallel.
- It’s still a beta version for signed-up testers, not a stable update for everyone.
- The requirement is a locked bootloader and a linked Xiaomi account.
When Xiaomi opened global HyperOS 4 beta testing a week ago, it only let three phones into the program and promised the next four would follow right away. The promise is fulfilled now — and since we know the exact build numbers too, you can verify precisely whether the update applies to your unit.
Four models and four European builds
The second wave includes Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. For the European EEA versions, Xiaomi released builds OS4.0.0.9.XOCEUXM (Xiaomi 15), OS4.0.0.6.XOAEUXM (15 Ultra), OS4.0.0.7.XPTEUXM (17T) and OS4.0.0.6.XPSEUXM (17T Pro).
Alongside the European versions, the pair Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra also got global builds — OS4.0.0.7.XOCMIXM and OS4.0.0.6.XOAMIXM. The difference between the global and EEA version isn’t cosmetic: each phone only takes firmware meant for its software region, so if you bought your phone in the EU, the global build simply won’t be offered. The system runs on Android 17.
Beta isn’t for everyone. Without these conditions, you won’t get it
The key is not to confuse this with the stable update. It’s still a stable beta meant for signed-up Mi Pilot testers, and it’s also being rolled out gradually — even if you’re in the program, the update may not show up on day one. The rollout goes the usual OTA way, directly through your phone’s settings.
Your phone must have a locked and unmodified bootloader and a Xiaomi account linked to the one you used to sign up for the program. In practice, that rules out anyone who unlocked the phone to install their own ROM. How to join the beta program step by step is described in the article about the opening of global testing — the same applies to this wave, too.
What you’ll find in HyperOS 4
The most noticeable visual change is the new Soft Light Glass UI material with illuminated, translucent layers that runs through system menus, the notification panel and the control center. Under the surface, Xiaomi rewrote part of the system components into the Rust language, aiming to reduce memory and power usage.
There’s also a better speech transcription directly on-device, meaning the audio isn’t sent to a server. The Super XiaoAI 2.0 assistant that Xiaomi talks about the most is still China-only for now — don’t expect it in European versions.
When the stable version arrives, Xiaomi hasn’t said
The company hasn’t announced a deployment date for the final version for European phones yet. However, the beta program is its necessary stepping stone, so here’s the simple rule: the more models appear in betas, the closer the stable rollout gets. If you’re considering signing up, keep in mind that returning to HyperOS 3 isn’t possible via a regular update and requires reflashing the phone.
