MIUI is an integral part of all Xiaomi phones, except for the Mi A series. It’s especially popular thanks to the number of new features and improvements that keep coming.
Recently, Xiaomi has focused on photos and videos. In addition to the revamped video editor and sky editing in photos, there’s a new feature that will completely change the vibe of your video.
Weather changes, simply like never before
Last May / May, Xiaomi added new sky-changing options to its Gallery app. After selecting one of the available themes, you could completely change the look of a photo in just a few seconds, giving it a whole new vibe. Suddenly, the photos looked as if they’d been taken in completely different weather.

Also, a handy video editor was added to the gallery. With it, you can edit a video directly on your phone, without needing to download other third-party video editors. The new feature is a combination of the previous two, and it was discovered in the Chinese MIUI ROM.
Most likely, it will be called “dynamic sky filter” and it will bring the option to apply a falling snow or rain filter directly to your video. The new update has been added in the latest MIUI Gallery 2.2.15.12. It’s currently available only in the Chinese beta version of the MIUI add-on.
As a member of the Xiaomi.eu portal, Igor Eisberg was the first to implement effects directly into video. In the demo, you can see how it all looks. For the recorded video, he probably added a rain effect with just one click. In the next video, instead of rain, he used a falling snow effect.
The effects Xiaomi is preparing for us look really realistic and give the videos a completely different dimension. At the moment, it’s not known whether more variants of this feature will be added in the future. We also don’t know whether they will be available only for Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro, or for other models as well.
