In this article, we’ll reveal the initial list of devices that can already start looking forward to the arrival of the expected update. Among the supported smartphones, you’ll also find older popular mid-range models, such as Redmi Note 7 or Note 8.

Only later, most likely sometime around the turn of the second and third quarters, will it reach smartphones from global distribution. However, the MIUI 12.5 global version hasn’t been presented yet, and we expect Xiaomi to do so at the official global unveiling of Xiaomi Mi 11, which should take place still in January 2021.
It’s nice to see that Xiaomi also doesn’t forget its loyal users with older models. Among the supported devices, for example, is the popular Redmi Note 7 smartphone that’s already nearly two years old.
This list will most likely expand over time, so a broader group of owners of smartphones from the Chinese giant’s lineup will be able to enjoy new interesting features. We’ll closely follow every change and then publish them on our website in time.
Key changes include a better-optimized and debugged environment, more thoroughly redesigned system security, and protection of personal data; a useful feature MIUI+; and beautiful Super Wallpapers in a fresh new look.
