Quick summary

  • The leak revealed the complete specs of the POCO X8 and POCO X8 Power duo, including promotional images.
  • The top-tier X8 Power is expected to come with a 10 000 mAh battery with 100W charging and 27W reverse charging.
  • The base X8 is not falling behind — it should have 9 000 mAh, 67W charging, and a 50 MP camera with optical stabilization.
  • Both models are expected to have IP69K resistance, a 6.83″ AMOLED display with 120 Hz, and a brightness of 3 500 nits.
  • There are promised four major Android updates and six years of security patches; the premiere is expected in early September.
  • The same leak also comes with the POCO M8x, which has already been unveiled — 7 900 mAh and a price under €200.

Battery capacities on cheaper phones have been rising for a year and a half, but this is a whole different league by today’s standards. A fresh leak shows POCO X8 Power with a 10 000 mAh battery — i.e., double what a typical flagship phone has. And it’s not some rugged, brick-like outdoor special, but a continuation of the series that has been among the best-sellers here for years.

A battery you haven’t seen in a regular phone yet

The source is promotional materials published by the leaker Yogesh Brar. According to them, the POCO X8 Power will get a cell with a capacity of 10 000 mAh, along with 100W wired charging. There should also be 27W reverse charging, so the phone can serve as a power bank for watches or headphones.

The numbers only make sense when compared. Flagship phones today are around 5 000 to 6 000 mAh, endurance models can reach 8 000 mAh. So ten thousand milliamp-hours is a capacity where the charger stops being part of everyday routine for the average user and becomes something you deal with once every two to three days. The question remains about weight and thickness — and the leak hasn’t revealed those yet; those are usually where phones like this get tested.

Two models, two chips — how do they differ

The lineup should have two new members. The base POCO X8 is built on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip, a 9 000 mAh battery, and 67W charging, and as the only one of the two it should have a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilization. The top-tier X8 Power will get a newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a larger battery, faster charging, and a better selfie camera, but the leak doesn’t mention OIS for it.

The display should be the same for both — 6.83″ AMOLED with a 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3 500 nits. Those are specs we’ve only seen up until recently, about two tiers higher.

IP69K resistance, six years of updates, and a September premiere

More interesting than the battery itself might be the combination of the rest of the specs. Both models are expected to have IP69K protection — meaning resistance not only to submersion, but also to hot water jets under pressure. There will also be Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protective glass and — which is the nicest part at this price tier — four major Android updates and six years of security patches. So a phone bought in autumn 2026 should keep receiving patches until 2032.

In the photo above, you can see the POCO X8 Pro Max — the higher model in the series, which was already unveiled in spring. The base X8 and X8 Power will look different, as the leaked image at the beginning of the article suggests. The design, in this case, is clearly moving closer to the Redmi lineup: a camera module with two large rings and a flat frame.

According to the leak, the launch is expected in early September, but there’s still no exact date. The first stop is set to be India, from where the X series traditionally reaches Europe shortly after. We already wrote about the POCO X8 back in July, when the discussion was about a battery over 8,000 mAh — so this latest leak has pushed the capacity even higher.

No prices have been published. According to a source, the X8 Power model should be slightly more expensive than the base version, which in previous generations meant a difference in the tens of euros. And as always with leaks, until the official announcement, all of this is unofficial information — even though promotional materials are usually more reliable than pure speculation.
