Xiaomi has made a pretty nasty blunder. Even before the official unveiling, a complete campaign for the new POCO X8 Pro series appeared on the Belgian-Dutch website.
And when we say complete, we mean Europe pricing, memory versions, the design, and practically the entire set of hardware specs. Of course, the internet didn’t miss it, and the content that was up there only for a short time is now circulating everywhere. If you were waiting for POCO X8 Pro, you now basically know everything.
Xiaomi confirmed the prices—even if unintentionally
The biggest surprise isn’t even the phones themselves, but their European pricing. POCO has been building its brand image for a long time as one that delivers extreme performance for reasonable money, and although prices have been rising year over year, they still stick to an aggressive strategy. POCO X8 Pro starts just under 400 euros, which today already sounds almost like a trip back to the past—especially considering what hardware is inside.
The stronger POCO X8 Pro Max goes higher, but it’s still under the psychological 600 euros threshold. And that’s where things get interesting, because for that amount it offers something Europe currently doesn’t have any real competition for—an enormous battery and a chip made using a 3 nm process.

If you feel like the specs look familiar, you’re not mistaken. POCO X8 Pro is basically the global version of Redmi Turbo 5, while POCO X8 Pro Max is based on Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which is sold in China. Xiaomi is playing its proven rebranding game again—but this time it’s doing it very cleverly.

The base POCO X8 Pro looks like a balanced fighter. MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra made on a 4 nm process delivers high performance with good efficiency, 6500 mAh is an above-average battery by today’s standards, and 100 W fast charging means you’ll have it fully charged in just a few minutes. There’s also a massive 3D cooling chamber, so throttling shouldn’t be an issue even during long gaming sessions.
POCO X8 Pro prices:
- 8GB + 256GB: 399,90€
- 8GB + 512GB: 449,90€
- 12GB + 512GB: 479,90€
POCO X8 Pro Max: the battery king of Europe?
But if there’s one reason this series is being talked about so much, it’s the POCO X8 Pro Max. This model has an 8550 mAh silicon-carbon battery—numbers that only recently belonged more to the tablet world than to smartphones. Pairing a battery like that with a 3 nm chip, MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, sounds like a recipe for endurance that could easily exceed two days of heavy use.
A display with a 6.83-inch diagonal, 1.5K resolution, and top brightness of up to 3500 nits suggests that POCO isn’t aiming only for performance, but also for a premium user experience. And yes, here you also get 100 W charging, so even a huge battery won’t mean long hours stuck by the outlet.
A leak revealed the design of the classic POCO X8 Pro in three colors — light blue, white, and black. It features a clean, modern look that fits the current POCO style. What’s interesting is that the same photos were also used for the Pro Max, so its final design is still a question mark for now.
But many fans are expecting the typical POCO yellow or orange version that would suit this model perfectly. Whether we’ll get it will likely only become clear at the official launch.
POCO X8 Pro Max prices:
- 12GB + 256GB: 529,90€
- 12GB + 512GB: 579,90€
Why are people angry?
The comments under the articles are clear — not everyone likes the new prices. Many compare the POCO X8 Pro with the F series and say that for similar money you can buy a more powerful model. However, it’s important to keep in mind that smartphone prices are rising globally, costs are higher, and POCO is no longer a brand that sells phones with minimal profit margins.
So the question isn’t whether the POCO X8 Pro is cheap, but whether it offers value. And when you look at the batteries, chips, and fast charging, the answer still seems to be yes — it just isn’t for everyone anymore.
