The company Xiaomi is preparing a new smartphone. A popular model Redmi Note 8 has appeared in certification in a version for the year 2021.
Given the low price of the original product, we can look forward to a mid-range or even lower mid-range device with updated technical specifications.
Redmi Note 8 in the year 2021 version
For several years now, the Redmi Note has been a very popular budget-friendly smartphone series in the mid-range segment. Chinese Xiaomi is now preparing a surprise for us under the banner of its Redmi sub-brand. Most likely, you can look forward to an updated version of the Redmi Note 8 for 2021.
An information leak from a source “kacskrz” on Twitter says that the upcoming Redmi Note 8 2021 model has already passed one of the latest certifications. The updated specs are also very promising, so owners of the original model can only be jealous.
The device was certified under the code name M1908C3JGG, and its lineup includes an operating system with the MIUI 12.5 overlay, plus a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. It shouldn’t be missing either a 4000 mAh battery, as well as 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
Mix in the name of the device from Xiaomi
On top of that, the FCC certification describes the smartphone under the label “Redmi Note 8,” indicating precisely an improved version of the original model from 2019.
At first glance, it might seem like a strange move by Xiaomi. However, you shouldn’t forget about the naming game that the Chinese manufacturer definitely doesn’t like to follow in chronological order.
If we think back to a few previous models, the Xiaomi Mi 10S smartphone was introduced only this year, after the start of a chronologically newer series of Xiaomi Mi 11 models.
We also need to mention the different naming of the same devices in different markets. Given the new model’s code name, we can probably look forward to a global version too. However, we don’t know more information at this moment.
