POCO F6 Pro arrived at our editorial desk, and it immediately caught our attention right after unboxing the box. This is a subjective take, but the back design of the smartphone simply won us over. We had the black version available (there’s also a white edition, which will definitely look beautiful too), and it’s one of the most good-looking smartphones in its price category.
No doubt about that. We weren’t disappointed even after turning the phone on. What aspects interested us the most, and what did we like less instead? Keep reading—the review of POCO F6 Pro begins.

The POCO F6 review is already published on our site, and based on the price-to-specs ratio, it was practically an unbeatable buy. Will it be the same with POCO F6 Pro? And which model is the better value? At the end of this review, we also added a brief comparison of these two smartphones. You’ll find out whether it’s worth paying about €100 extra for the “Pro” version.

In the box
The retail package is styled in black and yellow — just like it’s become the norm for the POCO brand. Inside you’ll find the phone itself, a 120 W charging adapter, a white charging cable with USB-A to USB-C connectors, and you’ll also get a gray silicone case. A protective film is pre-applied on the display. Also included at the end are the user manuals, along with a tool for removing the slot for two nanoSIM cards.
Design
The design was our favorite part—if not the most popular part—of this smartphone’s hardware. The beautiful mosaic look of the back really impressed us. But that’s just our opinion. The back is made of matte glass. The device’s sides are made of aluminum. The top part of the back is glossy glass, and on its left side you’ll find four circular elements.
Of course, those are three camera lenses and an LED flash. Overall, the phone feels premium. This is also helped by the fairly thin, almost symmetrical bezels around the screen. Only the bottom chin is slightly thicker. With a weight of 209 grams and dimensions of 160.9 x 75 x 8.2 mm, the POCO F6 Pro falls into the mid-sized category of today’s smartphones. A nice extra is the IP54 certification, which indicates slightly increased resistance to water and dust. Using it in light rain won’t be a problem, but it’s still best to avoid water altogether.
Display, fingerprint scanner and speakers
One of the highlights of the POCO F6 Pro is its Quad HD+ AMOLED display. With a precise resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a pixel density of 526 pixels per inch, and a maximum (peak) brightness of 4000 nits, it’s very likely the best display in its price range. You can manually set brightness to up to 1200 nits, and higher values are achievable through automatic regulation, for example in direct sunlight.
The screen also comes with a high 120 Hz refresh rate, supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and features 68 billion colors. The panel is protected by durable glass, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and there is a protective film applied at the factory. The display response time is top-notch, and color rendering is excellent as well. And nowadays, we don’t even need to talk about viewing angles. Under the display, there’s an in-display optical fingerprint scanner that reacts brilliantly. It’s fast and always accurate. Just the way we imagine it.
The POCO F6 Pro pleasantly surprises you with its stereo audio output as well. It’s quite loud and doesn’t lack any hint of bass. We really don’t have anything to complain about. For music listening, it’s better to use headphones—ideally wireless ones. The 3.5 mm audio jack isn’t included on the smartphone, but you’ve probably already figured that out.
Power
Inside the POCO F6 Pro is a flagship chipset from the previous generation, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, in terms of raw performance, it’s a better choice than using the current mid-range chip. The result is a more affordable smartphone with power that can compete even with today’s top models. Memory options include 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of internal storage. Additional expansion via microSD cards isn’t supported.
There are versions with 12 GB and 16 GB of RAM. We’d dare say you won’t notice the difference between them these days. In practice, you’ll get nothing but a smooth experience using the phone. App opening and multitasking are extremely fast, and there’s no issue even with playing the most demanding games. In the included screenshots, you can see how well the POCO F6 Pro performs in popular benchmark apps. In terms of performance, it will feel like you’re using a flagship.
Cameras
In general, POCO smartphones aren’t top-tier when it comes to cameras. We were also convinced of this by the POCO F6, which delivered at most only average results that often look rather dull. The situation is completely different with the POCO F6 Pro. The difference between these models is huge. The POCO F6 Pro takes photos as if it were from a completely different class—and we’re not exaggerating.

Compared to the competition and even other POCO devices, the “Pro” version is significantly better in every way. Photos have nice and accurate colors, great contrast, and a high level of detail—both during the day in the shadows of a photo and at night. We were truly very satisfied with the results. The phone also delivers with video quality, but we noticed that the primary sensor during recording often refocuses unnecessarily, which is distracting.
Below, we show photos from the POCO F6 Pro and, in selected cases, also from POCO F6, so you can get an idea of just how big a difference you can expect. Use them as proof that the “Pro” version is worth paying extra for if you’re interested in taking lots of photos with your new smartphone. On the POCO F6 Pro there’s also an ultra-wide-angle lens in addition to the primary sensor, which is average, and there’s no shortage of a macro sensor either. That said, it’s very decent—and compared to other macro sensors, it genuinely impressed us with its quality.

Battery and charging
Battery life is average to very good. On average, we managed to get 5 – 6 hours with the display on on a single charge. The phone will definitely last you an entire day, and if you’re a bit more frugal—turn off features you’re not using and don’t take many photos or do demanding activities—the reality is also a 1.5-day battery life.
A big advantage is the ability to deliver fast power during the day if needed. In the box, you’ll find a charger up to 120 W. A full charge is ready in about half an hour. After an hour of watching YouTube videos at medium brightness, the battery indicator dropped by 8%.

Operating system
POCO F6 Pro comes with Android 14 and a custom interface called HyperOS. In terms of appearance and features, it doesn’t differ much from the older skin MIUI 14. If you’ve used a Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO device before, you’ll quickly get oriented in the system and get used to it. HyperOS has a new font style—we enabled it already during the initial setup. The phone suits it really well. You also won’t miss the new, redesigned control center.

The user interface is very smooth, and the animations have never once stuttered. Optimization is top-notch. The manufacturer has once again included a large number of preinstalled apps. Most of them are games or social networks in the form of Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok. On the included screenshots, you can see folders with some of the preinstalled apps—which we recommend uninstalling right away in most cases. The same applies, by the way, to POCO F6.
Connectivity
POCO F6 Pro offers, in terms of connectivity, everything that really matters and what you could want in today’s day and age. We’re talking about Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, or even a whole range of location services used worldwide. It also includes an infrared port for controlling electronics remotely, such as a TV, projector, or air conditioner.
The USB‑C port is version 2.0, and OTG support for transferring data—for example between your phone and a flash drive—is a given. With the strength of the received signal, we had no issues. Phone calls were also trouble-free.
POCO F6 Pro: Final verdict—should you buy the base model or the “Pro” version?
You pay an extra hundred, and from the great POCO F6 you can instantly get the POCO F6 Pro. With our special offers, buying these two smartphones is almost like stealing. For your money, you get an outstanding value-for-money price-to-specs ratio. Which model should you choose? If you don’t mind paying €100 more, the POCO F6 Pro is overall the better smartphone. It has a better display, slightly higher performance, and—according to us—a much more attractive design.
POCO F6 Pro lasts a bit shorter per charge compared to the POCO F6, but you get noticeably faster charging instead. Where POCO F6 Pro really excels over the base edition is photos. If you like taking photos with your phone and you know you’ll be shooting quite often, you should definitely pay extra and get the “Pro” version.
If you don’t care much about photos and want to save as much money as possible, buy the more cost-effective POCO F6. On paper, its performance is lower, but in practice we really didn’t notice a big difference. We can only say that POCO F6 Pro will deliver higher and more stable performance in games. But our final verdict remains crystal clear. You won’t go wrong by buying either smartphone. We give both models a big thumbs-up, and both have our recommendation.
