The new POCO X8 Pro series has almost been fully revealed according to the latest leaks, and it looks like a truly ambitious upgrade. Two models are coming — POCO X8 Pro Max and POCO X8 Pro. Both new devices are set to feature premium displays, huge batteries, and the latest Android 16 with the HyperOS 3 UI right out of the box. That’s everything we know so far.

POCO X8 Pro Max will offer Dimensity 9500s and 8500 mAh

POCO X8 Pro Max is expected to bring a 6.83-inch 1.5K TCL M10 OLED panel with a high 120 Hz refresh rate, brightness up to 2000 nits in HBM mode, and an extremely high 3840 Hz PWM dimming. This will especially be appreciated by more sensitive users who are bothered by display flickering at minimum brightness. The build is said to be 8.15 mm thick and weighs 219 g, which is completely acceptable given the huge battery.

A new chip is supposed to handle performance MediaTek Dimensity 9500s with a graphics accelerator Immortalis-G925 MC12. The combination LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and fast storage UFS 4.1 suggests there are no performance compromises.

A main 50 MPx sensor, the Light Hunter 600 with OIS, will be paired with an 8 MPx ultra-wide camera and a 20 MPx front camera with an OV20B sensor. Another highlight is also the 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader directly under the screen, along with modern connectivity such as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The biggest draw is, of course, the massive battery you won’t find anywhere else—no matter how hard you try. The extreme battery with a capacity of up to 8500 mAh is said to support 100 W fast charging and at the same time 27 W reverse charging.

POCO X8 Pro: More compact, but still extremely powerful

The standard POCO X8 Pro will be smaller with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED panel, while keeping 120 Hz and 2000-nit brightness. 3840 Hz PWM dimming also remains, which is great news. Under the hood, it’s expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset with graphics Mali-G720 MC8.

When it comes to RAM and storage, you can also look forward to fast types like LPDDR5x Ultra and UFS 4.1 for snappy system responses. The frame of this phone is reportedly made of aluminum.

The back of the phone will feature a 50 MPx Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS, an 8 MPx ultra-wide lens, and the same 20 MPx “selfie” camera. The battery is said to be 6500 mAh, while still supporting 100 W wired charging and 27 W reverse charging. Compared to the “Max” version, here you’ll find an optical in-display fingerprint reader (instead of an ultrasonic one), and the Wi-Fi connectivity is limited to the version 6.

Both models are expected to come with the latest Android 16 and the HyperOS 3 overlay. If the manufacturer also adds extended multi-year software support, the POCO X8 Pro series could be a very interesting choice even from a long-term perspective.

Last but not least, the value of these smartphones is boosted by certification IP68/IP69/IP69K, NFC, the presence of an infrared blaster for controlling home electronics, or stereo speakers with support for LHDC 5.0 in the “Max” version.
