For some it’s a small detail, but for many it’s an impressive extra feature. This is how an improved flashlight can be described—one that, of course, uses the built-in flash on the back of the phone. HyperOS 2.1 is already available on the global market on the flagship Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The update is built on the latest operating system, Android 15.

HyperOS 2.1 will bring a small but useful improvement to the flashlight
Just like on iPhone, on Xiaomi devices with HyperOS 2.1 you’ll also be able to adjust the brightness of the flashlight. Although it may seem like a minor change, it’s actually a very handy one. After all, you don’t always need the flash at maximum brightness—especially since that consumes a lot of power and can sometimes shine a bit too aggressively.
You can also set the feature as a shortcut for the power button, so you’ll have quick access to it. Brightness control works very simply—just swipe your finger. When the flash is active, there’s a notification in the notification bar and in the notification center, letting you turn off the flashlight with a single click.
According to the first users, the operating system is very smooth and well-tuned. We believe it will work just as reliably on other, cheaper models from this Chinese manufacturer as well.
