The launch is already in a week

Directly the Redmi brand, on its official Weibo profile, has posted an advertising teaser that reveals the official launch date of the much-anticipated flagship. The smartphone will be launched on 24 March / března 2020 at 14:00 China time, which is 7:00 AM for us.

Since strict anti-coronavirus measures are still in effect in China, the launch will be held again purely via a live stream. However, this is not the only information Redmi shared today.

A new AnTuTu king?

In February / February 2020, the most powerful smartphones were Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro according to the AnTuTu test. Mi 10 Pro scored 594 069 points and Mi 10 scored 564 327 points. Today, however, Redmi K30 Pro is coming in with incredible 610 269 points.

In the AnTuTu test, you can also notice an almost bezel-less display on the K30 Pro, without a front notch or punch-hole

Redmi is comparing its new flagship with the Honor V30 Pro model, as this is their direct competitor on the Chinese market. The AnTuTu test results were shared in a video on Weibo, which is also where the photo above comes from.

The official design revealed

Today, the company also revealed the back design, which matches leaked photos from this week. From the top, you can notice that the company still keeps the 3.5 mm jack. On the upper edge, you can also see the module for the sliding front camera, which we’ve already seen on previous Redmi K20 and K20 Pro models.

On the top edge, next to the front camera, there should also be an IR port for controlling home appliances. We missed this element in the predecessor.

The first thing that hits your eye is the round cutout with four cameras arranged in a square. In the center of these sensors, there is text 64 MPx, confirming the primary 64 MPx sensor, which should be a Sony IMX686. We infer the camera model from the fact that this same sensor was used in Redmi K30 5G.

It’s already almost certain that two versions of this smartphone will arrive at once – Redmi K30 Pro 5G and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition. The Zoom Edition model has already been confirmed by Redmi director Lu Weibing, who added several posts about this smartphone to his Weibo profile.

As for the front side, official photos haven’t been released yet, but it’s already known that the display won’t have a notch or a punch-hole. It should be a 6.67″ OLED front panel with an in-display fingerprint reader. The almost bezel-less front design of Redmi was revealed in the first videos on Weibo.

Hardware base confirmed

The manufacturer has also confirmed the use of the most powerful Snapdragon 865 processor, and it should be one of the cheapest smartphones on the market with this chipset. The RAM will get the latest and fastest LPDDR5 chip.

The internal storage will also be very fast, thanks to the UFS 3.1 storage chip. Redmi demonstrates the speed of its internal storage in the video above. A very important part of modern smartphones for 2020 is high-quality cooling, and the Redmi K30 Pro will get Vapor Chamber cooling with a large area of up to 3435 mm2, very similar to what’s used in Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.

In the coming days, we expect a flood of new specs, just like Redmi usually does before the launch of a new product. We’ll inform you about everything in time, so make sure you keep following us.
