An interesting video has appeared online, showing how it looks in Xiaomi’s battery lab, where they test batteries. Want to see how the battery from your own smartphone is tested too?
Xiaomi’s battery lab
After introducing its audio lab, Xiaomi brings another exclusive video record. This time it’s a so-called “battery” lab, where the Chinese manufacturer tests the accumulators of its smartphones to ensure its own quality standard.
There’s no doubt that ensuring high-quality processing and testing is important, especially from the standpoint of battery safety. A positive view of proper functionality and safety is key when customers use smartphones themselves.
You probably remember the notoriously infamous model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 flagship smartphone, whose owners reported numerous battery explosions. By thoroughly testing its batteries, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is trying to prevent a similar misstep.
Xiaomi will test every type of battery
The manufacturer selects several units from each battery series and then tests these units thoroughly in its lab. The batteries are placed in specific conditions, so the manufacturer can monitor the reaction to extreme temperatures (low down to -40 °C or high up to 85 °C).
Every tested battery unit is also exposed to high pressure. This ensures and verifies that the internal circuitry is strong enough. This is how the battery’s resistance itself to possible impacts or drops of your devices is checked.
In addition, these batteries are also tested for various electrical faults; they’re connected to different power sources with different intensities of voltage. It’s a pretty intense testing method that checks each battery all the way up to its limit.
