Tomorrow it finally kicks off and we’ll learn about the expected Xiaomi 13 series and more great products. Just before the announcement, Xiaomi shared new information about the camera of the Xiaomi 13 Pro model.
Camera from Xiaomi 12S Ultra
In August this year, we learned about the Xiaomi 12S series, where everyone was most impressed by the Ultra model. It had a big 1-inch sensor from Sony with a resolution of 50 MPx.
However, the problem was that it was only a series meant for the domestic Chinese market, and those models didn’t look at the global one. But that will partially change with the Xiaomi 13 Pro model.
Xiaomi itself shared that the main sensor in this smartphone will be a 50-megapixel sensor sized at 1 inch. The size will ensure the sensor can capture much more light, so the shots will be great even in poor lighting conditions.
A very solid telephoto lens
Another promo poster is about the second sensor, the telephoto lens. Although Xiaomi doesn’t mention its resolution anywhere, it focused on another parameter: the focal length.
In this case, it will be at 75 mm, so objects will appear much closer. For now, we don’t know whether this sensor will also come in the base Xiaomi 13 model.
We’re more inclined to believe it will be only in the Pro model, and the base model will likely have to make do with a macro lens, because Xiaomi will want to differentiate these two models more.
Tomorrow, December 1, at 12:00 (our time), Xiaomi plans a big Chinese conference, where we’ll also learn about the MIUI 14 upgrade, the smart watch Watch S2, the Buds 4 earbuds, and the surprise will be the first desktop computer, the Xiaomi Mini Host.
