The powerful flagship model Xiaomi 15 Ultra is without a doubt a very well-equipped smartphone when it comes to mobile photography. But do the results from the popular performance testing on the web DxOmark confirm that as well?
Xiaomi 15 Ultra: DxOmark ranked it outside the top ten
Although the flagship model placed #1 in the web DxOmark zoom test, it falls behind in the gray average in the ranking of flagships and their cameras. The first major analysis of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra cameras proved to be a double-edged sword for the success of this model.
The flagship “Ultra” model, presented for both China and Europe at the same time, at the Mobile World Congress 2025, delivers excellent performance thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. But let’s move on to the cameras, where this isn’t Xiaomi’s first miss.
So far, this Chinese manufacturer hasn’t managed to get any of its smartphones into the DxOmark top ten. Xiaomi 15 Ultra won’t change that either, despite some solid results in selected areas of mobile photography.
Still, even though this model ranks far below the leaders like the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max, Google Pixel 9 Pro, or Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, it doesn’t have to be completely embarrassing. It took first place in the photo texture ranking and also in the zoom ranking—the “zoom” feature.
But this is only enough for 13th place in the overall ranking of flagship models.

DxOmark says that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra offers a high level of detail at all focal lengths. It also has a high dynamic range in photos and videos, along with great performance in the areas of texture and noise.
When we look at the negatives, DxOmark revealed that Xiaomi stumbled in a few other categories. The testers criticized a lack of consistency and noted that photos taken immediately one after another don’t deliver equally high-quality results.
Another note points to the presence of various artifacts, such as “ghosts” and light effects, despite the fact that Xiaomi repeatedly highlights its Leica Ultrapure optics through its marketing.
In addition, video stabilization isn’t as good as in some competitors—for example, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max.

And vice versa, some commenters disagree in their comments with the scores that were given to this device. The question is whether this criticism is justified.
