New leaks from the Chinese scene suggest that the Xiaomi 18 series will indeed be unveiled in September 2026. The information was provided by the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, who also claims that the same timeline is being prepared by competing flagship models from Vivo and OPPO.

Xiaomi is therefore likely planning to once again be among the first manufacturers to roll out its new flagship Snapdragon chipset.
Xiaomi 18 is expected in September 2026
According to the latest reports, Xiaomi is preparing for the brand’s traditional autumn launch of its flagship lineup. A September reveal would continue a strategy the manufacturer has been using for several years now. The new Xiaomi 18 series is expected to bring not only more powerful hardware, but also changes in software and design.
The leaker Digital Chat Station mentions that competitors with the Vivo X500 and OPPO Find X10 series are planning for the same month as well. So September 2026 could be one of the busiest periods in the Android world in recent years. Xiaomi will likely again be among the first manufacturers with the new Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm.
HyperOS 4 could arrive even before the phones are announced
Another very interesting piece of information is the possibility of an earlier release of HyperOS 4. In the discussion under the post, someone mentioned that the new system could be presented by Xiaomi as early as July or August 2026. That would mean the software arrives before the actual hardware of the Xiaomi 18 series.
Such a move would make a lot of sense. Xiaomi could first launch beta testing for HyperOS 4 and then, in September, unveil new flagship smartphones with the system fully ready. Later in the autumn, the update would also roll out to older Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices.
Fans of smaller smartphones will definitely like this latest leak. Digital Chat Station hinted that Xiaomi is still planning a model with a display around 6.3 to 6.4 inches. That means compact flagship phones aren’t disappearing yet.
Right now, Xiaomi is one of the last major manufacturers still offering smaller flagship models with premium specs. So you can expect a combo of a top-tier processor, a high-quality AMOLED display, and flagship cameras packed into a more compact body. For many users, the base Xiaomi 18 could be a very attractive alternative to the larger Pro models.
Will Xiaomi skip the Xiaomi 19 series?
Rumors about potentially skipping the Xiaomi 19 label have started spreading online too. The discussion began after Apple allegedly plans to skip some iPhone generations in the future and push the numbering much further ahead.
Xiaomi has already made a similar move once before, when it skipped the Xiaomi 16 series and went straight to Xiaomi 17. However, nothing currently confirms that Xiaomi 19 truly doesn’t exist. For now, it’s only online speculation, and everything suggests that the Xiaomi 18 series will keep its naming.
It’s expected that the new flagship smartphones Xiaomi 18 will bring the latest Snapdragon processor, improved cameras, and other AI features built directly into HyperOS 4. If the leaks are confirmed, September 2026 will be an especially important period for Xiaomi.
