Xiaomi is working on two smartphones with the currently fastest wireless charging on the market

It’s already been a month since the official unveiling of the first flagship smartphone from the premium Xiaomi Mi 11 family. There’s no doubt that the specs of this device are truly impressive, but the more advanced siblings will bring significant improvements.

One of these key upgrades is maximum wireless charging performance. So far, we’ve seen a maximum of 50 W wireless charging from Xiaomi, but the manufacturer has been innovating at a rocket pace lately—resulting in current leaks.

A pair of smartphones with 67 W charging

Kacskrz, the well-known informant and leaker from the XDA-developers development team, has only recently found in the beta code of the MIUI 12.5 interface layer some interesting clues that reveal two upcoming smartphones.

These smartphones carry the internal code names “star” and “mars”. As it later turned out, the star model ends with “K1”, while mars is marked as “K1A”. It’s likely these will be two different smartphones, but it’s also possible they’re the same device with a focus on different markets.

Both devices will feature an implementation of 67 W wireless charging. We haven’t seen such a high power level in Xiaomi’s portfolio yet, and we’re already looking forward to official confirmation of this information.

The smartphone codenamed star should have the flagship chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G under the hood. All other reports and leaks point to the fact that, in the end, it will be a smartphone Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro.

In addition to the powerful processor, it should also offer a 120 Hz AMOLED display along with a 50 MPx main camera, a 48 MPx ultra-wide sensor, and a 5x telephoto lens. Of course, these are just guesses—we’ll have to wait until the launch, which could take place as soon as February 12 in China.

Earlier, you could take a look on our site at the article about revolutionary 80 W charging. Even though we probably won’t see this breakthrough in the form of these smartphones, the introduction of 80 W charging in Xiaomi smartphones could arrive as early as the second half of 2021.
