The Chinese company Xiaomi has introduced a new concept with the interesting name „Xiaomi Cube.“ It should be a new HQ for this brand, which should also include an interesting and large 360° spatial LED screen.
Xiaomi Cube as the new headquarters of the Chinese company
Have you heard the term Xiaomi Cube for the first time? About 46,000 square meters and an enormous spatial LED screen. This should include Xiaomi’s new headquarters. Specifically, it’s the Shenzhen HQ, which is expected to be fully renovated on the occasion of the company’s 10th anniversary.
After a precise competition in which several professional firms competed for this exceptional contract, the prestigious company Ennead Architects, the holder of a gold medal from the American Institute of Architects, will take on the new headquarters. This company will bring to life this new brand HQ, which is located in the central part of the Houhai commercial and financial district in Shenzhen.
More than one billion euros
According to the architectural firm itself and its lead architect Peter Schubert, this building will capture the company’s mindset, while being set between ecology and technology. The building is said to be inspired by the famous Rubik’s cube.
Specifically, the smart one from Xiaomi. The building will include a range of innovations within the construction. But it will also offer extensive conference spaces for hosting events.
Even though the total cost of this renovation is not yet known, the Chinese portal MyDrivers reports that: „Xiaomi Group plans to invest around 7.76 billion Chinese yuan in the city of Shenzhen to build the company’s international headquarters.“
So it’s more than one billion euros. A source from MyDrivers claims that the operating costs from year 2020 to year 2024 will be in the range of up to 51 billion yuan. Local financial resources are expected to provide approximately 600 million yuan.
