Xiaomi has introduced its first professional 4K monitor called Xiaomi Mi Display 27″ 4K (XMMNT27NU). Essentially, it’s an upgraded version of the already familiar 27-inch Xiaomi monitor, which has been on sale for quite some time. The new model impresses with both its specifications and an attractive price.
Xiaomi’s first 4K monitor
Earlier, we told you that Xiaomi is working on something like this—and it has become a reality. The design is pretty standard, in a dark gray color, so it looks very elegant at first glance. The monitor measures 612.9 x 200 x 514.9 mm and weighs 6.44 kg.
Just like with the previous 2K version, the manufacturer has fitted the display with a highly practical stand that lets you adjust the monitor’s height and tilt.
You can even rotate it 90 degrees, so you can have the monitor oriented vertically. That can come in handy for programmers who often have a few hundred lines of code.
On the right side of the bottom bezel, you’ll find physical control buttons and also one special one. With the button marked as P, the user can enter a professional mode that includes scene or color settings.
The display won’t be something to be ashamed of
You’ll also like the fairly thin bezels around the screen, even though the chin/brim is still noticeably wider. Xiaomi can definitely be proud of the display itself. The Xiaomi Mi Display 27″ 4K, model number XMMNT27NU, features 27 inches, 4K resolution—that’s 3840 x 2,160 pixels—and it also comes with PANTONE certification. Since it’s primarily a professional monitor, the refresh rate is the standard 60 Hz.
That means it can show truly accurate colors. It also offers 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB and the DCI-P3 gamut. It also has 100% coverage of the sRGB color gamut. Color accuracy is Delta E < 1, which means exceptionally precise and realistic colors.
The monitor can display up to 1.07 billion colors, and it doesn’t miss out on VESA DisplayHDR 400 technology or the DC Dimming feature, which reduces so-called screen flicker. That way, your eyes are perfectly protected. Maximum brightness reaches 400 cd/m2.
On the back, you’ll find a pair of USB-A ports, a 3.5 mm audio connector, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4, and 2 x HDMI of the latest standard 2.1. A big advantage is also USB-C with support for 90W charging—which notebook users will especially appreciate: this port can carry video/audio and charge your laptop at the same time.
Price and availability
The price of the new Xiaomi Mi Display 27″ 4K monitor on the Chinese market is set at 3499 yuan, which comes to €488 / $549. At first, it will be available only for the domestic Chinese market, and we don’t know whether a global version will also be announced.
At the very least, though, we can expect it to show up in listings from well-known international retailers like Banggood, which is already known for selling Xiaomi monitors. Nearly all models are also offered from European warehouses, and we expect a similar scenario for the 4K model as well. Once the monitor goes on sale, we’ll let you know on our website.
