Here are the component prices for the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold. The main board alone costs as much as a new Mi 11 Pro

In today’s article, we’ll look at the price of components for the new foldable smartphone Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold. For example, the main board alone costs approximately as much as a new Mi 11 Pro, and the price of both displays—the primary foldable one and also the secondary one—will most likely surprise you as well.

Price list of Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold components

To give you a sense of the production cost of the foldable device Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold (16 GB RAM / 512 GB version), we’re bringing you a clear table of the prices of the smartphone’s individual main components.

Each component also requires an additional fee for its professional assembly. You can view the resulting prices in Chinese yuan, euros, and US dollars in the table below.

The most expensive component isn’t the foldable or the secondary display

As for repairing the secondary screen (when the smartphone is closed), it will cost you approximately 89,12 € / 107,77 USD. Replacing the primary foldable screen is several times more expensive—it costs 496,52 € / 600,42 USD. However, you also need to add 5,09 € / 6,16 USD for the professional assembly of each of these components.

But that still isn’t the most expensive part of this revolutionary smartphone. The mainboard replacement will cost you 649,30 € / 785,17 USD, which is a price that beats the current flagship smartphones themselves. For a similar price, you can buy, for example, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro in China. This model, just like the foldable Mi MIX Fold, will most likely never get official availability on global markets.

By far the cheapest component in our table is the battery. It costs, in converted terms, only 12,60 € / 15,24 USD. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold itself has a sales price in China for the base version (12 GB RAM) starting from 9999 yuan. That converts to 1273 € / 1539 USD—which is still less than foldable competitors from Huawei or Samsung.
