From China, not just a tech giant Xiaomi brings a new Xiaomi Mijia travel suitcase via its crowdfunding platform YouPin. It comes in size 20″ and provides excellent protection for your luggage.
Xiaomi Mijia 20″: A travel suitcase with excellent luggage protection
Xiaomi is expanding its product lineup. For the Chinese market, it’s introducing a new product that wants to stand up to popular accessory brands like Samsonite or American Tourister. The new hard-shell travel suitcase, Xiaomi Mijia 20″, features a practical front access to your luggage, as well as excellent protection.
The Chinese manufacturer has approached the product really pragmatically. Since this is a cabin-size suitcase, it includes some features you can also find in many other models. For example, it has rubber wheels that stand out with their smooth movement.
The suitcase construction is made from a combination of hard and cushioned plastic, which ensures greater durability. Another big advantage is the locking system made of four zippers, which prevents accidental or unwanted opening of your suitcase in the wrong situation.
Now let’s get to what makes this suitcase stand out from the competition. There’s no doubt it’s the front organizer compartment. It works practically like almost any backpack, and it can also store a laptop with a screen size of up to 15.6″. Another advantage is the extra-fast access to the luggage you keep in that front compartment. There are also various storage sections and dedicated spots where you can store your documents, a charger, and similar accessories you need to have—so to speak—“at hand.”
This compartment is also designed so that it can be opened when the suitcase is open. From a comfort perspective, it’s an excellent extra—especially if we consider the price level of this product. The internal space layout is also practical, so you can organize your clothes and other travel gadgets.
In addition to classic compartments for clothing, there are also various pockets designed to separate used or wet items from dry ones. That way, your luggage won’t get mixed up and you can keep everything neat inside the suitcase.
Price and availability of the new Xiaomi product
The new Xiaomi Mijia 20″ travel suitcase starts selling—so far exclusively—in the domestic Chinese market. Its introductory crowdfunding price is 449 Chinese yuan. That’s about €57 at the current conversion.
However, this is the selling price in China during this campaign, which later will be increased slightly in the form of retail. We currently have no further information about global availability.
