Xiaomi has brought a new product to the Chinese market: the Mijia Fan Light ceiling light, combining lighting and a fan in one device. This product is currently available on the Youpin platform for the home market only and offers an interesting solution for a smart home.
Thoughtful full-spectrum LED lighting
Mijia Fan Light has a full-spectrum LED light that mimics daylight. With a color rendering index of Ra97, it ensures the light replicates natural daylight very precisely. The circular light design with a diameter of 485 millimeters delivers a luminous flux of 350 lux.
A fan in the middle, with blade diameter 1.06 meters, is made of transparent plastic. Together with the light, though, it’s the white matte finish that dominates—so it should fit in with almost any interior.
One of the advantages is the ability to adjust the color temperature, ranging from 2900 K (warm light, ideal for relaxing) to 5700 K (cool light, suitable for workspaces). The maximum LED lighting power reaches 60 watts.
Fan modes and power
The fan offers 4 modes, such as lake breeze, hill breeze, field breeze, or wind for camping. You can use these modes to create a pleasant atmosphere for relaxing or working at home. What’s great is that the 35-watt motor efficiently moves up to 160 cubic meters of air per minute.
And all of this with minimal noise—just 32 decibels—so it can run quietly even at night. For that, there’s a sleep mode, whose feature is that it automatically adjusts airflow based on changes in the human body’s temperature during the night, helping you get a more refreshing sleep.
The app is standard for Xiaomi
You can control the Mijia Fan Light remotely via the Mi Home app available for Android and iOS, allowing you to conveniently switch between lighting and ventilation modes. With support for HyperOS Connect from Xiaomi, you can control the product from multiple devices at the same time.
If this product also made it to Europe, it would probably be controllable via voice commands through Google Home or Amazon Alexa assistants.
Price and availability
To start with, the Mijia Fan Light is sold at a discounted price of 549 Chinese yuan (about €71). After the campaign ends, the price will rise to 599 yuan. There’s currently no information on whether Xiaomi will sell this product outside China, but if it does, the price would likely be higher due to shipping and taxes.
