- The unannounced Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro showed up in Geekbench under the code name 2612CRPFFC.
- It’s powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, so not Xiaomi’s own chip like in the pricier Pro Max.
- The tested unit had 12 GB of RAM and Android 17, with results of 2,075 and 8,750 points.
- According to leaks, you’ll get a 12.1-inch display with 3.2K and 144 Hz and a battery of 11,000 mAh.
- Seeing it in the database usually means weeks, not months remain until the launch.
The flagship Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max has been on sale in China since September 7, and it’s the first tablet with a custom Xiaomi chip. Now, its cheaper sibling has also appeared in the Geekbench database — but it didn’t make it to a homegrown chipset.
Snapdragon instead of a custom chip
As reported by the website Gizmochina, a device with the model number 2612CRPFFC has appeared in the database — a name that has already been associated with the Pad 9 Pro. The listing confirms Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 under the internal code QTI SM8845P.
This is an eight-core chip with two cores at 3.80 GHz and six at 3.32 GHz, paired with graphics Adreno 829. The tested unit had 12 GB of RAM and ran Android 17.
Photo note: No one has officially shown the Pad 9 Pro yet, so in the pictures in this article you’ll see the larger Pad 9 Pro Max. The smaller model will look similar, but with a different diagonal.
2 075 and 8 750 points — and why you don’t have anything to compare them to
The tablet scored 2,075 points in the single-core test and 8,750 in the multi-core test. Watch out for one thing: it was measured in Geekbench 7, which calculates differently than version six. That’s why the numbers can’t be compared with results you saw for most phones and tablets over the past year.
And just like with any pre-series unit, the software isn’t fully tuned yet — the final figures are usually higher.
A bigger battery than on the Pad 8 Pro
The rest of the specs are silent in this benchmark, but the previous leaks paint a pretty clear picture. The Pad 9 Pro is expected to come with a 12.1-inch LCD display with 3.2K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, plus a 11,000 mAh battery with 67W charging.
Compared to the current Pad 8 Pro with an 11.2-inch display and a 9,200 mAh battery, that would mean a larger diagonal and a battery cell that’s about a fifth bigger. Also, older leaks mentioned 12.5 inches — so the diagonal is changing between reports, and the definitive number will only be known at launch.
Why Qualcomm and not XRING
A question that this leak will make everyone ask is: why didn’t Xiaomi put its own chip here too? The answer is probably straightforward — XRING O3 is still a rare commodity. Xiaomi manufactures it using a 3nm process and has only used it in flagship models, specifically the 18 Fold clamshell and the Pad 9 Pro Max.
Cheaper devices are still sticking with Qualcomm for now, which makes sense price-wise. For you, that doesn’t have to be bad news—Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is still a flagship chip, and in a larger tablet with more cooling surface, its performance will show at full power.
Xiaomi hasn’t said when the Pad 9 Pro will be unveiled. However, its appearance in Geekbench usually means the debut is sooner in weeks than in months. And since the Pad 8 Pro is also available in global sales, the chance that we’ll be able to buy the smaller Pad 9 Pro here too is pretty solid.
