When Xiaomi unveiled its first SUV with a range extender in late July, the conversation was mostly about numbers. Now, official photos are finally here—of what the customer will actually see: the Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max interior. And it’s exactly the kind of cabin you can’t buy in Europe even for twice the money: light leather, wood trim, a ceiling TV, and a fridge in the center console.
Front section: displays, but without chaos
The dashboard is unusually calm. Instead of one huge tablet in the middle, the N70 Max has a long horizontal panel with subtle ambient lighting stretching across the entire width of the vehicle, plus a separate infotainment display above the center console. The driver gets a dedicated instrument cluster and a steering wheel with two larger control blocks. Everything runs on HyperOS, so the car behaves like another device in Xiaomi’s ecosystem.

Visually, it’s clearly a step up from what we’re used to with Xiaomi—like the SU7 sedan. Cream-colored leather with stitching, metal details on the vents, and wood on the back of the center console feel more like a premium German SUV. We already brought the first technical specs for the N70 and N90 models in July, and now we finally have images too.
The second row is the main attraction
Xiaomi talks about an “intelligent SUV with a variable large space” and the second row is exactly where that shows. The seats can be moved further back to create up to 1 410 mm of space for passengers—that’s a figure typically associated with long-wheelbase limousines. A small table folds out from the rear side of the front console; you also get dedicated air vents for the rear, control panels in the doors, and separate speakers.

Above the heads of passengers in the second row there’s a fold-down screen mounted to the ceiling—exactly the kind of solution known from luxury MPVs like the Toyota Alphard or Lexus LM. Combined with the panoramic roof and blue ambient lighting, it creates a space you can use even when the car isn’t going anywhere.
A fridge, drawers and 2 425 liters
Between the rear seats there’s a massive center armrest with cup holders and a sliding drawer that serves as a chilled box. It’s exactly these kinds of details that set Chinese family SUVs apart from European ones—the focus is on how you travel in the back seats, not on how fast the car is on a racetrack.

The practical side doesn’t lag behind. After folding the seats down, cargo space expands to up to 2 425 liters and you get a flat surface where you can even sleep. Xiaomi sells this as the key strength of the entire SkyNomad series—the car is meant to be just as usable for a holiday as it is for sleeping in the wild.
A living room in the car in just a few seconds
The SkyNomad series is built on the idea that the cabin can be transformed based on what you need at the moment. The front seats can be rotated backward, the second row slides and folds down, and the center table can be pulled out between the passengers. The result is an arrangement that feels more like a small living room than a conventional five-seat SUV.

But there’s also the other side: most photos capture the car in a static studio setting, and Xiaomi hasn’t shown yet how these modes work in practice or how long it takes to switch between them. We also don’t know how much of the shown equipment will be included in the base version versus what will cost extra.
Under the hood: 505 km on electricity, then another thousand
The technology stays the same as Xiaomi announced. Power is handled by a pair of electric motors with all-wheel drive and a total output of 310 kW (416 hp); the top speed is 190 km/h. The NMC battery with a 76 kWh capacity delivers, according to China’s CLTC method, 505 km purely on electric power, which is currently the highest figure among all cars with a range-extender. When the gasoline generator is connected, the total range increases to 1,461 km with consumption of 6.1 liters per 100 km, with a nearly depleted battery.

The chassis features a front axle with double wishbones and a multi-link rear axle with air springs and smoothly adjustable dampers. Safety is handled by nine airbags, an integrated protective frame, and a body with 14 steel points rated at 2,200 MPa strength. A 4nm chip with 700 TOPS computing performance, lidar, a 4D millimeter-wave radar, and Xiaomi HAD takes care of the assistance systems.
When and for how much
Web CarNewsChina reminds you that the pre-order price of the N70 Max is 259 900 yuan, i.e. about 33-thousand euros. According to Xiaomi president Lu Weibing, the number of pre-orders for both SkyNomad models exceeded the company’s expectations. Xiaomi delivered 104,199 vehicles in Q2 2026 and set a goal of 550-thousand units for the full year — SkyNomad is its first model that isn’t purely electric.
A small discrepancy is worth noting: at the July reveal, this model was listed with an electric range of 464 km and a total range of 1,705 km; the current figures are 505 km and 1,461 km. So these are updated numbers, not a new variant—all SkyNomad N70 updates are being tracked as they come. The launch on the Chinese market is planned for September 2026, and Xiaomi hasn’t said anything yet about a European version.
