Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has announced a new update for its popular fitness tracker Xiaomi Smart Band 8. It brings a lot of features, as well as the HyperOS operating system.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will also be added to the HyperOS devices lineup
Just a few days ago, we brought you new info about the official launch of Xiaomi Smart Band 9. This smart band comes with several improvements right away, including better sensors, higher brightness, and a new operating system HyperOS from the manufacturer.
And now, according to the Gizmochina portal, this software is arriving as the latest update also on the older model, under the name Smart Band 8. You should get the same level of features in terms of the HyperOS software as on the newest model. And yes, also here in our global market. Below, we’ll walk you through the individual features of this update.
HyperOS: The same features as the latest generation
The first and most important fact is the integration of the latest operating system HyperOS itself. In the smart band, it completely replaces the original software, helping you optimize the band’s performance in everyday use, as well as its responsiveness and battery life.
In addition, Xiaomi has included in this update a feature for “focus notification support”, which was introduced together with the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro. This tool lets you prioritize specific notifications from a particular app, while keeping the rest muted. This will improve your focus during sports performance or at work.
Another major improvement is built-in support for paid services. All Xiaomi fitness bands offer a wide range of fully free wallpapers and animated watch faces. From now on, you’ll also get access to various paid alternatives developed by the developer community. So if you’re interested in the paid version, you’ll help support the development of more units.
Among no less important improvements in this update are various bug fixes reported by users themselves. These are very necessary changes that enhance your day-to-day use and how the apps run on the band. The update has currently been rolled out in China, but in the coming weeks it should also be distributed worldwide, including Europe.
